The latest Taxpayers’ Union/Curia Poll spells danger for Chris Hipkins as Labour languishes in the polls.

The latest Taxpayers’ Union/Curia Poll is out and it shows gains for National, who have widened the gap over Labour. The Greens have dropped again as their continual scandals grind their support down.

JC: Takes From the Latest Curia Poll

The latest Taxpayers Union Curia Poll makes for good reading if you come from the centre-right. National and New Zealand First made gains (two per cent and 1.7 per cent) while ACT stayed pretty much unchanged. The party to suffer most on the left was Labour (down 3.5 per cent) and now back in the mid-20s. The result has National on 37.6 per cent, New Zealand First on 7.3 per cent and ACT on 9.1 per cent. On the left, Labour registered 25.9 per cent, the Greens 12.5 per cent, pretty much unchanged from June, and the Maori Party down slightly to 3.5 per cent.

The latest Taxpayers’ Union/Curia poll is out and it seems that the Green’s sanctimonious balloon has been popped. It seems that voters will forgive benefit fraud, shoplifting, bullying each other, migrant labour exploitation and a myriad of other issues, but they really don’t like mouthy seppos getting shouty and assaulting shopkeepers.

Christopher Luxon needs to realise that the media are not his friends: in fact they are the enemy. The media also discovered that, when put under pressure, Luxon folds like a Warehouse deck chair. That’s why his ratings have plummeted in the latest Taxpayers’ Union/Curia poll:

JC: A Poll Tells a Story

The Curia Poll released last week was very revealing in terms of what its content told us about where the country is headed. National went up 2.6 points to 39.6% while ACT doubled that increase going up 5.6 points to 13.7%. The interesting point to note here is that ACT’s increase did not come at the expense of National. NZ First shed a point to 5% so their propensity to rise going into an election and fall afterwards is continuing. The only point I would make about that is, based on what we have seen so far, NZ First is showing it wants to make a useful contribution to the government and is needed also, with ACT, to chivvy National along.

The political commentariat has been given more numbers to inform its pre-election prognostications, since Point of Order last checked on what our ministers are doing.

There were oodles of numbers in the latest Taxpayers’ Union – Curia Poll (released yesterday). These essentially show support declining for both the ruling Labour party and National while minor parties ACT and the Māori Party would get more seats (if the election was held now) and the Greens would retain their seats.
