Bob Jones: New Zealand's IMF ranking

Labels: Bob Jones, IMF, Immigration, Racist society

The latest IMF Current Account Ratings forecasts that our current account deficit will be proportionally the largest of the world’s 40 most advanced economies.

Specifically, the IMF said it would be worse than notorious cot cases such as Greece and ranks us the 3rd worst performer in its recent years decline among advanced economies.

This is a direct consequence of the appalling financial mismanagement over the last 3 years.

Thanks to our floating exchange rate it will eventually sort itself out, albeit initially at a considerable standard of living cost.

While financial mismanagement has been a key factor, other dumb government decisions have played a significant role, notably the ridiculously excessive lockdown leading to us being rightly branded abroad as the Hermit Kingdom.

The clampdown on migration has had a huge inflationary impact with some key activities such as the building industry for example. Additionally, labour shortages have adversely affected numerous parts of the economy. These problems will be compounded by an expected sizeable lift in migration, principally to Australia of our best and brightest.

It all augurs badly for the next few years. All of these dire consequences are a direct consequence of a truly appalling government, driven by ideology and an irresponsible approach to expenditure.

Perhaps, worse of all, is the creation of a racist society which will take years to mend, if ever.

Console yourself with the availability of non-stop live sport on television, something I suspect many folk are now doing.

Sir Bob Jones is a renowned author, columnist , property investor, and former politician, who blogs at No Punches Pulled HERE.

Dear Sir Robert Jones.

As always, you target the "problem - (quote) "All of these dire consequences are a direct consequence of a truly appalling government, driven by ideology and an irresponsible approach to expenditure" 9end quote) - being the consequence of 5 years, from whence the "populace fell in love with a 'queen'", who went from being a List MP/Labour - to suddenly the Deputy Leader, to being placed in a position she was ill-equipped to be in.

But as, always with New Zealander's, they "fell out with National (Bill English proved to be a version of the wet dish cloth)", thus the voter swing toward Labour (which was labelled Jacinda Mania) & NZ First.

I am sure you could "wax lyrical" on Winston and his political ambitions etc - thus we were presented with a "Duo Govt" that for Labour proved to "not to their collective liking", hence the result of election 2020.

Sir, I think it would be interesting to be told of Jacinda's past work experience with -
1/ - Tony Blair, this connection appeared in an English Media website, but did not elaborate on "work function";
2/ - Helen Clark, for the 9 years (allegedly) she worked on the "9th Floor of the Beehive"
and her employment capacity
and finally -
3/ - who decided to place Jacinda on the Labour MP List, to sit in Parliament, when National (John Key) became the next elected Govt.

This pending PM, sat with other Labour MP's many who would become Minister's in their own right - and as we have seen, their collective abilities have "not served this Nation well" - so what did they learn during their 9 years in Opposition - hence you very apt statement.

As always, Anon, in the Land of New Zealand.

When Rob Muldoon was on the campaign trail every NZer knew the national per capita debt. But that was in the quaint old days before advanced communications when even the lowest skillrd read a daily newspape. And often Truth and the weekend sports paper as well)

As always Sir Bob, short, sharp, sweet, and to the point.

It was a great shame that Bill English did not lead a fourth term. He had the highest vote of all the parties. As in Finland recently they should've been the party to decide whom they form a coalition with.

And I thought Helen was kept in the basement or at least in a downstairs flat at the PM's residence. The 9th floor sounds pretty splendid and was Heather there too?

To Anonymous - re your comment regarding Helen C most apt, and include Heather !!! what a "stroke of genius" - but many people may miss the point of your statement.

When you know who?? became you know what!! there was "around the camp questions/talk/chatter" as whether Helen C would be 'placed somewhere'. Did you know that Heather was given a "leadership Role" on one of JA's "committees"??

Finland - the former PM has an interesting personal History - one that surfaced at the time of Finland's elections, and "chatter" suggested the "leaked data" was done deliberately to undermine her chances of her re-election.

Do you mean Sanna Marin? That's funny.
Yes I became aware of Heather Simpson when she was adopted by JA early on.

I'm pretty sure they all would've had many a late hour discussing their socialist plans of world domination. Clarky rolling the doobies.
