David Farrar: A great idea

Newshub reports:

Te Pāti Māori has issued a Declaration of Political Independence, Te Ngākau o Te Iwi Māori, beginning the process to establish its own Māori Parliament.

This is a great idea. I’m all for a Maori Parliament and Government, funded by Maori (its not Tino Rangatiratanga if you are dependent on others funding you).

Let every NZer of Maori descent decide whether they want to come under the auspices of the Maori Parliament or the NZ Parliament.

If they choose the Maori Parliament, they can pay taxes to it, and can only access health, education and welfare services funded by the Maori Parliament.

David Farrar runs Curia Market Research, a specialist opinion polling and research agency, and the popular Kiwiblog where this article was sourced. He previously worked in the Parliament for eight years, serving two National Party Prime Ministers and three Opposition Leaders.

Agreed however, since TPM have now sworn off their allegiance to the Crown, they need to be removed from parliament immediately.

And prosecuted for treating, with Natasha Kemp being forced to pay back the parliamentary salary she has received so far.

The surprising thing is how many Maori leaders and politicians who are supporting this. If those same people devoted a 10th of the energy into maybe getting their kids to school, think what that would produce

Is our Governor General out to lunch?

Anon@1.35, she must be having it with the Clerk of the House?
And from the issue date of the declaration, all TMP paliamentary salaries and perks should immediately cease.

Has 'anyone told TPM' that there is likely to be a change of Govt in South Africa, and their 'idols' the African National Party (ANC) are likely to be either -
- on opposition benches (jeeze just like NZ TPM are) if this happens will they (ANC) have 'verbal slanging matches in the SA Parliament when it sits, organize useless protest marches, hold their collective hands out [along with those of their supporters] for the cash from Tax Payer revenue - oh, hmm - sorry SA is bankrupt'.

- or be excluded into the wilderness, where they can once again plot, plan (revising all those plans that they created & followed to get into power in the first place) - arm themselves with money from either Russia and/or China (or even Iran?), and weapons and "stage another take over of South Africa", re-installing themselves - again - into power BUT this time for good.

Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of .......

Sounds like a great idea, of course they will need their on territory. I believe a nice strip of land will shortly be, becoming available in the Eastern Mediterranean that has a very temperate climate and sea views.

'Let every NZer of Maori descent decide whether they want to come under the auspices of the Maori Parliament or the NZ Parliament.'

Why?

There should be no choice at all. One drop of blood and that is it, you are Maori. Forever. Including all your offspring, forever. Not that TMP would ever want such a thing.

Mr Luxon will be hard pressed to continue describing - as he has done - a national debate and referendum on unity as " divisive".

However, one cannot ignore the real reasons for this TPM move:
1. to stop the Seymour Bill
2. to advance the He Puapua agenda of tribal rule -
this ruckus must be calmed by a compromise such as an all party conference on a new constitution (based on partnership and co-governance) which would certainly lead to He Puapua
