All training teachers are eligible to receive a £15,000 grant from the Welsh Government if they specialise in a subject most needed in the country’s schools.
This includes biology, chemistry, physics, IT, design and technology, Welsh, modern foreign languages as well as maths.
As part of the Labour government’s ‘Anti-racist Wales’ action plan an additional £5,000 is available to individuals who are from ethnic minorities.
The scheme aims to progress Wales “significantly towards being an anti-racist nation by 2030”. It follows calls to ban dogs from the countryside by Climate Cymru BAME to make the outdoors “anti-racist”.
A government spokesman previously insisted it was not planning to act on the proposal compiled by environmental group, and dogs “would continue to be welcomed in the hills of Wales”.
It comes after Wales’s score in the previous 2022 international Pisa assessments fell to their lowest on record for 15 year-old’s in science, maths and reading. The Celtic nation also landed last among all UK countries.
Welsh Conservative Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Education Natasha Ashgar has since hit out at the scheme amid what she called a “recruitment and retention crisis” in Wales.
She said Wales’s Labour Government should be focusing its sights on getting the best maths teachers in schools, “regardless of their ethnicity”.
“This additional funding for ethnic minority maths teachers increases the total grant to £25,000 — significantly higher than what is available to teachers from non-ethnic backgrounds,” she told the Times,
“With the alarming number of mathematics teachers leaving the profession and so few being recruited, surely the Welsh Labour Government should be offering equal funding for all mathematics teachers.”

Is the Welsh problem that too much time is spent on an obsolete language, as here? Secondary school maths only approaches a lofty level requiring degree level qualification at the upper 6th form stage, not the basis of assessment tests.

Seems like country dogs in Wales discriminate on colour.There are very many parts of NZ where as a pale NZer I would not dare go for a walk alone. Certainly not in Murapara or Minginui. The very real dog risk is a serious limitation on freedom everywhere.

It makes you wonder why all of these ethnic minorities flock to all of the Western countries that we are constantly instructed are so "racist."
Besides, why is it imperative to be "anti-racist" anyway? It's crucial to understand the language being used before you sign up to do anything.
If anyone doesn't yet understand that "anti-racist" is just code for "anti-White" then, they need to get smart.
Looked at another way, to be "racist" is just to be pro-White. Nobody has a problem with, say, Indians being pro-Indian or Africans being pro-African or Asians being pro-Asian (in fact, it is encouraged, because it undermines White people). So why is the cardinal sin to be pro-White (i.e. racist)? Because despite us being told that it is a "conspiracy theory" that there is an anti-White, it is a fact.
Even putting aside the very objective and easily verifiable facts as to rapid demographic changes in Western nations, I've just explained how we know there is an anti-White agenda - it goes by the name the "anti-racist" agenda.
If you are a White person who is "anti-racist" you are directly harming your and your descendants' interests.
The people pushing this stuff think our current systems are oppressive and systemically racist because they use a definition of racism which belongs to the 15th and 16th centuries when European colonists used myths of European superiority in the justification of the colonisation of many nations during and after this period. It has nothing to do with the current definition of racism, which is restricted to the beliefs of individuals rather than society as a whole which rejected systemic racism in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Anti-racism today is part of a Maoist plan to control thought at all levels of society by training students/learners to see the world through the lens of critical theory in which all systems are oppressive. The school system is failing because activists aren't teaching subject content to children, they're turning every lesson into a political indoctrination sessions using social-emotional learning which has its origins in marxism and theosophy. Every subject can be transformed using critical theory.
