The US President calls former NZ PM Ardern & her ilk at Harvard's Kennedy School "radical left birdbrains only capable of teaching FAILURE".
Yesterday the US President lambasted Harvard University. He ordered federal funding that it receives to be cut. For those curious about the inner workings of such places, the comments the President made as a Social Media Post weren't directed at the University as a whole. They were aimed at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. New Zealand's former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is a Fellow of the Kennedy School, with an appointment lasting from 2024 to 2025.
Her formal title is the Angelopoulos Global Public Leaders Fellow. So what did the US President have to say about the Kennedy School hiring the likes of Ardern? Here's what he wrote, "Harvard has been hiring almost all woke, Radical Left, idiots & “birdbrains” who are only capable of teaching FAILURE to students & so-called “future leaders.” .. these Leftist dopes, are teaching at Harvard, and because of that, Harvard .. should not be considered on any list of the World’s Great Universities or Colleges".
We obviously do not condone the President's comments, but at the same time there's little doubt hiring controversial politicians has been a mistake for many universities, including Harvard, since it has undermined the core mission of those places, which should be an apolitical search for the truth. Our own Otago University knows all about this game, having handing its Vice Chancellorship to Former Labour Finance Minister Grant Robertson, who is responsible for much of the economic stagnation we are now experiencing.
Professor Robert MacCulloch holds the Matthew S. Abel Chair of Macroeconomics at Auckland University. He has previously worked at the Reserve Bank, Oxford University, and the London School of Economics. He runs the blog Down to Earth Kiwi from where this article was sourced.

Robert may not condone Trump's comment, but I certainly do.
Places like Harvard and Oxford who put Ardern on a pedestal not only teach failure, but they give the mainstream media cause to say that Ardern isn't adequately appreciated in NZ and that she and her policies are recognized internationally the world's leading universities.
I totally condone the presidents comments because he is right isnt he.
I have read comments recently from people saying they wish Jacinda and Grant were still running the country and we wouldn't have the current problems. The media obviously continue to lie about their legacy and the extremism that lay behind the kind platitudes.
Trump is too radical for my liking but in this instance he’s 100% bang on. Auckland university falls into the same category. They have lost their way - whilst under the influence of “maorifacation” who incidentally are less the 20% of the population.
"We obviously do not condone the President's comments ...". I'm sorry, Professor, but when I reflect on the financial, social, and racial mess that Ardern, Robertson, Chippy and co deliberately engineered New Zealand into, I sadly find myself fully endorsing the President's comments.
While in the States , I have been asked if NZ still had that wonderful Ardern as our leader.
They have been amazed when told how woefully bad she was, and that her policies would not be acceptable to even the most left leaning US citizens.
As for Robertson, he bought his new job at Otago Uni with $120M of taxpayers money as a gift to finish the University to being a completely Maori entity.
Aw I'm sure the good prof knew that this forum would be full of people endorsing Trump. ....
Trump’s comments; 10. Prof’s comments; 5.
Well wouldn't I be fired for saying anything less, no?
Trump is 100% correct with his comments. How can anyone come to any other conclusion? Look at the disaster Ardern left behind her. How can she claim anything else. She does teach failure. She's a far left loser, nothing else.
Na, Prof McCulloch, you wouldn't be fired - but again, this audience would assume that you would be, and you know that.
Prof. MacCulloch - if your Tenure ends suddenly, I am sure we could find a place for you at Breaking Views.Co.NZ as the readers of your column would enjoy reading your well thought opines.
Not sure you would get a job with NZME, maybe a Hosting segment on The Platform?
At the moment, just keep the data flowing.
So these comments by this professor show that he is sticking very much to just an apolitical search for the truth. He does seem to have drawn out all the same old chorus of mostly old, so dissatisfied with their own lives that they are obsessed with a younger woman who has achieved things they never will.
And has just moved on to new things, while they are stuck, still complaining and going nowhere.
Clearly this is another social media plant - this time Left. The "old chorus" mentioned are quietly moving their hard earned assets elsewhere to end their days in a tranquil and adult context far from the Aotearoa nightmare of endless entitlement and wokeism - with a top mental age of 13.
'Richard' - you are in there for Adern? Presumably behind co- governance, racist divides, financial distortion and reconstructed history? Go Boy - I hope you have the right genes and stamina to thrive if the Arden construct is the new NZ.
Incidentally I suggest you read the post by Fiona McKenzie on post-Adernism and her 'progressive cronies'
taking effect. I find that mind bogglingly scary but then I am old and white. Oops, I share the female thing (biological) with Adern.
Not a social media plant here, but a stickler for spelling, ha! As about half of NZ's online commenters on the former PM remain unaware - her surname is Ardern, not Arden or Adern...
Richard, can you name one positive thing that Ardern achieved in 6 years ?
I can't.
The world should be worried about the new things you think she is going to achieve.
I expect that you aren't as it seems that you are fully indoctrinated.
Spelling, grammar, science, facts, gender ... whatever.
Who are "We" that do not condone the president's comments?
"Radical, woke, bird brain, idiots and dopes" is quite mild language for what Ardern and her Ilk could be described.
He didn't refer to them "Marxist scum" or "Commie thugs" so they got off rather lightly some might argue.
It’s the royal WE much loved by elitists. Never heard Trump use it.
