Dark Jester: Hope for the Next Generation

For the last few years we have been told that the next generation is the “most progressive generation ever”. The mainstream media reporting seems to present this narrative spotlighting figures like Greta; part of their contention that Generation Z, or Zoomers, will become the most progressive ever.

But then what explains the rise of the ‘far right’? According to ‘experts’, this is simply a phenomenon known as the ‘cultural backlash’ essentially by old white men who are voting in as an outpouring of their ‘white fragility’. Basically, old white men are insecure in their privilege and power being challenged by multiculturalism and diversity. Therefore our academics would have us believe there is nothing to worry about: those old white men who voted for Trump and Brexit will die out one day soon and the world will enter a new era of progressive liberal bliss.

That is, until you look at the statistics.

In America, over half of the men aged under 30 overwhelmingly voted for Trump. This was true across the board regardless of college education, race or econonmic status.

In France, about a third of young people aged 18–24 voted for Marine Le Pen and the National Rally for the European parliamentary elections and for presidential elections.

In Germany, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) is now the most popular party among 18–35-year-olds, which is contributing to their rise to become the second-biggest party in German parliament.

That’s also not forgetting that it was predominantly young, white, working-class men that voted for Brexit and are increasingly flocking to Reform UK.

What is the reason for this? The mainstream media are baffled, with most commentary shrieking about this being another consequence of Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson.

This swing to the right is due to younger generations voting for national populism. This is due to what is known as post-security politics, which argues that people have three securities they prioritise: border security, economic security and cultural security. What most people want is a strong border, a stable economy in which they can afford to live and a thriving culture they can participate in. All three of these things are currently under threat in the West.

But this goes beyond politics, as culturally and socially Generation Z and younger Millennials appear to be going through what is known as retraditionalisation, which means they are going back to the Judeo-Christian values and traditions of the West.

There appear to be a few reasons for this. One is in relation to a revitalisation of old Western society. A good example of this is style and aesthetic. More and more young women are embracing the fashion of the past – the clothes of previous generations. One trend in particular is the rise in popularity of what is known as ‘cottagecore’, which focuses on the style of architecture and fashion centred around traditional rural life. This includes clothing with old-world feminine shapes. Out of this came the ‘tradwife’ subculture, with women willingly choosing to not work and becoming full-time housewives taking care of their children. Academics claim this is due to the changing attitudes to the work-life balance, particularly after discovering the benefits of working from home during the pandemic.

There also appears to be a dose of Ludditism, with ‘Luddite groups’ forming to encourage offline interactions and socialisation. This is a clear example of the attitude of archeofuturism, in a world that has become complex with technology, multiculturalism and the rise of transhumanism. People at a certain point want to go back to the historical traditions and values of a much simpler world and it seems this is what Generation Z and beyond are doing with their return to the fashion and attitudes of the past.

The other reason is because traditional conservatism or the political right has become the new counterculture. For decades the left has preached the doctrine of revolutionary change: to resist the mainstream and those in power; to create an alternative culture that challenges the norms. However, what happens when wokeism becomes the mainstream? The only way to challenge the mainstream is to swing the other way. Now that progressivism is the dominant ideology, the next generation are rebelling by becoming conservatives.

There is also a spiritual reason for this. Essentially, Generation Z is finding God. A report published by the UK Bible Society showed that, for the first time ever, the decline in church attendance is actually reversing and an increasing number of Gen Z men are attending church.

According to a survey, more than half now say they believe in a God. In America, there is a revival at university campuses around the nation. This Easter, every church recorded an almost average 50 per cent increase in adults becoming baptised in the last few years.

If the trends are true, Gen Z are set to become the most conservative generation in a century. Perhaps even more conservative than the greatest generation who fought World War II. I just pray for our sake and for the sake of the West that this holds true.

The key to propaganda is the media and the young simple do not watch the propaganda filled media.
Yes the social media is filled with nudge sites but the movement is weaker than the MSM.
When finally the funding is cut to the MSM or propaganda it will all collapse.

Ultimately Socialism and democracy cannot coexist we need only keep a focus on democracy.

Some hope in a few contexts - very little in NZ. Let us face facts.
