Lushington D. Brady: It’s as Easy as Tahi, Rua, Toru

National prioritise public money for useful subjects.

Which do you think your hard-earned tax dollars would be better spent on? Kids who leave school equipped with world-leading maths skills? Or kids who leave school barely able to count to 10, but able to do so in a language spoken by just 0.0025 per cent of the world?

Lushington D. Brady: What Does ‘Far-Right’ Mean, Exactly?

It’s the media’s favourite phrase, but what does it mean?

Does anyone remember keyboard macros? They were pretty hot stuff in the early days of internet chat, back when bulletin board systems and GeoCities ruled. Just hit a keyboard shortcut and it would instantly type out any phrase you’d taught it.

I rather suspect mainstream media journalists are still using them, judging by how often they parrot stuff like ‘misinformation and disinformation’, ‘transphobia, homophobia, Islamophobia’ and ‘white supremacist’.

Lushington D. Brady: That’s What You Get for the Welcome to Country Rubbish

Proposed ‘marae’ in a Sydney park sets off a cross-cultural ‘indigenous’ punch-on.

Call it payback for those damned “Welcome to Country” ceremonies that blight every public occasion, now matter how trivial, in Australia. There’s a trans-Tasman ‘indigenous culture’ vulture squabble brewing in Sydney. An expat Māori group wants to build a ‘marae’ in Sydney – and the local ‘Aborigines’ aren’t happy.

Mind you, the rest of us Aussies aren’t happy with the “Welcome to Country” bullsh*t, either – and we can blame that one on Māori culture vultures, too.

Lushington D. Brady: A Republican Dream Team in the Running

Donald Trump couldn’t have asked for better opponents than Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

The Democrats just keep on giving to Donald Trump: the endless show trials that only boosted his poll numbers every time. They stuck with Joe Biden even after the debate exposed his cognitive decline in the most brutal fashion. Then they replaced Joe with an unelected nominee so unpopular she never won a single primary vote in eight years.

Now, cacklin’ Kamala Harris has chosen her running mate. Hoo, boy.

Lushington D. Brady: Here Came the Crash Test Dummies

We all owe thanks to the humble crash-test dummy.

They’ve become such a familiar modern icon, lending themselves to rock band names and Far Side cartoons, that it’s easy to take them for granted. I’m talking, of course, about crash-test dummies. These robot-like, mannequins with their distinctive black-and-yellow biometric markers are instantly recognisable – but they had to be invented some time. As it turns out, the history of the humble crash test dummy is a pretty weird saga.

Lushington D. Brady: Air NZ Admits It Was All Bullsh*t

Corporate wokesters admit that their “climate action” is virtue-signalling bullsh*t.

The thing about corporate pandering to the Climate Cult is that, sooner or later, harsh reality slaps even the most determinedly virtue-signalling CEO in the face. The alternative is going broke quicker. That’s because ‘climate action’ is as ruinously expensive as it is useless.

Only last week, even Twiggy Forrest gave up pretending that his ‘green hydrogen’ hyperbole was just that.

Lushington D. Brady: Do They Ever Stop Lying?

The Biden White House are still lying about Joe’s cognitive decline.

When the late Christopher Hitchens wrote his political biography of the Clintons, he called it No One Left to Lie To. He dubbed Bill Clinton (“with reasonable confidence”), “a pathological liar”.

Lushington D. Brady: BLM Are Right for Once

I know - I’m as shocked as you are.

You know we’re living in a Clown World when BLM are actually making sense.

I’ll wait while Good Oil readers wipe the coffee from their screens.

Lushington D. Brady: They’re Not Even Hiding It

Is no one listening to what Muslims around the world are saying, loud and clear?

They’re not even hiding it – but is anyone in power taking notice?

History, as they say, repeats. Looking back on the inevitability of WWI,
H G Wells wrote, “Why did humanity gape at the guns and do nothing?” As it happens, he wrote that in 1933. In the same text he also foresaw the inevitability of war with Nazi Germany, even getting the location of the spark (Poland) right, if for the wrong reasons. Wells was also only a year off, guessing the outbreak of War in 1940.

Lushington D. Brady: Still Think We Can ‘Coexist’ with Islam?

Islamic preachers in Sydney are at least honest: Islam and Western democracy are incompatible.

It’s equal parts amusing and exasperating to witness, time and again: Western chattering classes being exposed to the reality of Islam. To the horror of virtue-signalling ‘coexist’ types, Atlantic writer Graeme Wood pointed out that, far from Nothing To Do With Islam™, Islamic State is “Islamic. Very Islamic.”

Lushington D. Brady: One Con Job after Another

For all their blatherskite about “saving democracy”, the Democrats are stomping all over it.

Politics is rarely without irony, if not staggering hypocrisy. Take, for instance, “independent” MP Zali Steggall demanding “truth in political advertising” laws. But, should such laws have existed in the US, the Democrats would be out of a job, if not their very name.

Lushington D. Brady: Le Medaille D’or de la Terreur

The jihadis are giving it the gold medal try.

Are these going to be the most dangerous Olympics ever? It’s not just the likelihood of swimmers developing new and exotic diseases from being submerged in the filthy Seine. With Islamic terror waging war in the Middle East and across Europe, the greatest obvious danger is swivel-eyed Mahommedans or even more demented leftist anti-Semites causing bloody mayhem.

Lushington D. Brady: Donald Trump’s Big Week of Miracles

A week that could have been unimaginable disaster just gets better and better for Donald Trump. By literally dodging a bullet in Pennsylvania, Trump came up with the campaign photo for the ages. A bloodied Trump, fist raised in defiance against a backdrop of blue sky and American flag, has come for many to symbolise the American spirit. It’s accidental likeness to the iconic Iwo Jima flag-raising hasn’t escaped many.

Even if you don’t like Donald Trump – and many very much do not – there’s no denying the power of the image.

Lushington D. Brady: Jacinta Price Sets Out a New Way

Time for Aboriginal Australia to step up and out of the past

The Dutton opposition in Australia is going big and bold. Ever since John Hewson was belted so thoroughly in 1993 for daring to lay out his policies in detail two years out from an election, the received wisdom has been small-target strategy. Don’t tell anyone what your policies are until the election is announced, and even then, string them out right up to election day, if you can. If you don’t say what your policies are, the thinking goes, they can’t be attacked.

Dutton, instead, has already shown his daring on energy policy, by openly championing nuclear energy. Now, his Indigenous Affairs spokeswoman, rising party star Jacinta Nampijinpa Price, is laying out a bold policy agenda: one that goes right for the throat of the cosy “progressive” assumptions that failed so miserably, and deservedly so, at the Voice referendum.

Lushington D. Brady: Arking up against the Rainbow

Anti-groomer wave gains momentum

It looks as if the backlash against the ‘rainbow’ groomers is really hitting its stride.

The only surprise is that it’s taken this long. Of course, the only reason the groomers got away with what they did for even this long is because most people blindly accepted the mantra that ‘We just want to be left alone in the privacy of our own bedrooms.’ But the truth couldn’t be hidden forever. Not once they came for the kids.

Lushington D. Brady: Now What Do You Say, Chloe?

“From the river to the sea” officially a hate slogan

Well, it’s official, Chloe Swarbrick: you’re bellowing an antisemitic, genocidal hate slogan. No less an authority than the US House of Representatives has overwhelmingly agreed.

Before Chloe and her anti-Israel chums start blithering that it’s all just the wicked Republicans, the measure was co-sponsored by two Democrats. It passed with 377 votes – meaning that 162 of Joe Biden’s Democrats voted in agreement.

Lushington D. Brady: What Has She Left in Her Wake?

Ardern’s Legacy Is Still Wreaking Havoc

Half a year has passed since Labor were tossed out of office, and just over a year since Jacinda Ardern scuttled off to whatever cushy globalist sinecure awaits Klaus Schwab’s minions, denying New Zealand voters the chance to pass their own judgement. Which perhaps explains the appearance of, not one, but two retrospectives of Ardern’s, ahem, “achievements”, have appeared in The Australian in recent days.

Lushington D. Brady: Telling the Truth Won’t Do in Aoteazuela

As I’ve repeatedly warned BFD readers, always assume that a so-called “fact-checker” is trying to mislead you. But, if it’s bad enough that professional, often taxpayer-funded, liars in cahoots with the mainstream media are bullshitting you, it’s far worse when a statutory body is joining in the mendacious censorship.

In this case, New Zealand’s Broadcasting Standards Authority.

Lushington D. Brady: Swift ‘Justice’ for a Select Few

If You Want the Cops to Bother, You’ll Need a Rainbow

It’s amazing what miracles can be achieved by the New Zealand public service when the occasion calls.

Non-urgent referrals for mental health assessments in New Zealand were waiting an average of 26 days just for their first face-to-face appointment (which is not an actual assessment: as one psychologist put it, it’s the difference between placing your order at McDonalds and actually getting your meal). For some, the wait time can be as long as 526 days.

Lushington D. Brady: Word to the Wise, Auckland Uni

We Had a Near-Identical Case in Australia

Word to the wise, University of Auckland: quit while you’re ahead.

Here in Australia we’ve already seen the debate over racially segregated spaces at universities played out, and it did not work out well for the segregators. And that was without even a firebrand senior government member on the case.
