It always intrigues me that cost saving advice is limited to relative trivia. Any information which might make a real dent in power consumption and /or costs; commercial devices (driers, air conditioners, heaters, insulation etc) is very limited. Hot water bottles never mentioned. For a person inactive (tv, computer) and alone a very inexpensive solution. No advice on airing houses (a given 50 and more years ago). No advice about dressing for conditions (I consider much of the maori/pacifica child health problems are due thickly blubbered adults misjudging the requirement of relatively slender children.) Along with the reluctance of all to be seen as different from the chauffeured.classes.
