John Robertson: Veterans used as pawns in co-governance schemes....

Betrayed by the Government:  Veterans used as pawns in co-governance schemes

Ah, here we go again: another dazzling example of the government tripping over itself to push its agenda of race-based governance while pretending it’s all about helping veterans. Spoiler alert: it’s not. This isn’t about fixing systemic failures or supporting those who served the nation. It’s about draping the co-governance flag over yet another sector of public services, using veterans as a convenient excuse to sell their ideology.

And of course, the golden thread here is the inclusion of iwi—because anything involving iwi inevitably drags along the co-governance train, reeking of apartheid under a self-righteous guise. It’s as predictable as it is nauseating. This is governance by segregation, sold with a smile and a press release. The pattern is as clear as day: inject race or ethnicity into everything they touch, then stand back and congratulate themselves for their "progress."

Take the outsourcing of Veterans’ Affairs to an iwi collective. Why? Because—brace yourself—the government can’t even manage a basic database. That’s right, they’re admitting their own incompetence while dressing it up as a bold, innovative "partnership." The real message? "We’re too useless to do our jobs, so let’s pass the buck to iwi and call it progress."

And let’s not ignore the subtext here. They’re already pitching this as a model for nationwide implementation. Translation: "This is step one in normalizing racial division across the entire public sector." The fact that this involves veterans—people who fought for every New Zealander, not a specific demographic—makes it even more insulting.

Here’s the reality: veterans aren’t being prioritized here. They’re being tokenized. The government doesn’t care about their sacrifices; it cares about looking good while pushing its agenda. This isn’t a solution—it’s a sales pitch. The veterans who don’t fit into this neatly packaged plan? Well, they can just keep falling through the cracks, can’t they? After all, fixing the actual problems wouldn’t provide the same photo-op.

Let’s be clear: this isn’t progress. It’s apartheid under a different name. It’s a disgraceful attempt to entrench racial division while pretending to care about the people who gave everything for this country. And the saddest part? They’re so proud of themselves for it.

True and very serious. "Let the wise Iwi manage through co-governance " is the latest trope to bury democracy and ensure tribal rule.

Well - hold a referendum and see if the majority of citizens buy into this.

But first, find a real leader with the courage to issue this challenge and see it through to a clear conclusion. This is not Luxon.

NZ is close to self - destruction by failing to protect its democracy. Then the apathetic may regret their silence when their valuable voice could have stopped the current madness.

To see if a tribal society based on democracy and amazing progress in a short time succeeds...... Good luck!

Remind me why I voted for the Coalition. Because the msm have not spelled it out, the great majority of the public do not grasp the artful maori control by way of supposed partnership. In the present climate the power of cancellation is such that almost n oone dares be seen to not meekly cooperate with wondrously artful maori.

I don't recall seeing this 'opportunity' advertised on GETS (Government Electronic Tender System), but might have missed it. If not so advertised, this is an absolute scandal, and reeks of yet another iwi fraud to be carried by the taxpayer. Shame on all involved in this.

This is unbelievable. JT would be mightily impressed - for his brothers not only gaining a database of private information, but in the full view and with, no doubt, the financial support of the Government, and all without having to provide any incentivisation out of his own taxpayer-funded pocket!

Here's a thought, if the Government is so incompetent at collecting and managing the most basic of demographic information, why not get this "Trust" to run the national census? Almost certainly they'll have more success at getting their recalcitrant 'cuzzies' to fill out their census forms and they'd be so delighted to have access to such a potential constituency database, I'm sure they'd be prepared to do it for something of a discount - in recognition of the 'partnership'? Undoubtedly, it could be another win - win. Yeah, right!

One thing is for sure, He Puapua is alive and well!
