David Farrar: A Swedish reserve Bank Governor

Nicola Willis announced:

Dr Anna Breman, the First Deputy Governor of Sweden’s central bank, has been appointed as the new Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, Finance Minister Nicola Willis announced today.

“Dr Breman comes to New Zealand with an impressive blend of technical skills and organisational leadership experience. She has been a Deputy Governor of Sweden’s Riksbank since 2019.

“She holds a PhD in Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics and has previously been group chief economist at Swedbank, a leading Swedish commercial bank. She has also worked at the Swedish Ministry of Finance, the World Bank and as an academic economist in the United States.

This is a surprise appointment, but Dr Breman looks highly qualified. She has extensive private and public sector experience.

David Farrar runs Curia Market Research, a specialist opinion polling and research agency, and the popular Kiwiblog where this article was sourced. He previously worked in the Parliament for eight years, serving two National Party Prime Ministers and three Opposition Leaders

Give me control over a nation’s currency, and I care not who makes its laws. Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1743–1812)
As long as we have a fiat currency controlled by a banking shadow group that has the levers to our economic system then we are subjects and slaves to these entities.

Yes David, thanks for your insights, and Willis and Luxon are amazing, aren't they. Keep doing your polling for them so they keep running the country on optics & PR & what they think is a good look, not on deeply thought-out changes that are beneficial for all Kiwis. Your mates are so far gone it has become embarrassing.

Pure politics - their international candidate relying on instructions from a local handpicked team. Poor women can easily be blamed for " not grasping the NZ context" when things go wrong. They are getting desperate.
Luxon may see Willis as his anointed successor......

I agree with Robert largely and would have gone further putting the reserve banks responsibilities out for world wide tender. Could a reserve bank in Australia manage our needs for 40% of the cost thus saving a hospital in cost every 2 years.
Just getting it out of Wellington would be transformational.
The consequences of their actions are first felt commercially in areas such as Auckland, only after the consequent tax and revenues grow does Wellington "sniff" the impact of their changes, and that does not mention the detached nature of the capital.

How the hell did this person, who appears to only belong to just ONE oppressed and underrepresented group, sneak by the diversity police?!
What is even worse is she appears to have credentials and experience!?
I'm more outraged the xenophobes who have contributed comments here.

The best thing I can see is she doesn't come with any political baggage and can focus on the job in hand
