Dr Rachel Nicoll: The World Health Organisation Got it Wrong Again.....

The World Health Organisation Got it Wrong Again: We Did Have Pre-Existing Immunity to COVID-19

At his media briefing on March 3rd 2020, the World Health Organisation (WHO) Director General said: “COVID-19 is a new virus to which no one has immunity”.

The WHO managed to get quite a lot wrong in its pronouncements about COVID-19. I am just focusing on the “to which no one has immunity” for now. But put this together with all the other inaccuracies in the WHO statements and guidance about COVID-19 and it does raise concerns about our Government’s recent outsourcing of health decisions to the WHO in the next pandemic.

Matua Kahurangi: Pharmacists cashed in - The COVID gold rush they don’t want you talking about

When the Government rolled out its COVID vaccination programme, most Kiwis assumed pharmacies were simply doing their bit for public health. What we were not told was that behind the scenes the jab programme turned into a lucrative cash cow for a select group of pharmacy owners who saw the pandemic not as a crisis, but as an opportunity to fill their coffers.

Eliora: The Psyche of a Small, Proud, Compliant Country

A small country in the South Pacific trailed behind most of the world during the outbreak of a virus named Covid-19 in 2020.

New Zealand (NZ) has been used in the past as a testing ground quite a few times. In fact, it has been described as a ‘social laboratory’ due to its history of implementing progressive or experimental policies, particularly in the late 19th and 20th century. The reference to NZ is often attributed to the French political scientist and historian André Siegfried who used it in his book, Democracy in New Zealand (1914). https://www.google.co.nz/books/edition/Democracy_in_New_Zealand/tqomAAAAMAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&pg=PR3&printsec=frontcover

David Farrar: The key question that should be asked

Stuff reports:

Dame Jacinda Ardern says she will provide evidence to assist the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Covid-19 response.

This week there was speculation about whether the former prime minister, who is living in the United States, would be called to give evidence at the inquiry, which resumed in Auckland this week.

A spokesperson told The Post she had every intention of providing evidence, if asked to.

They key question I would ask is:

Matt Ridley: Yet more proof of systematic deception on covid

Five years ago this week, based on a highly misleading “model” forecast from one academic, Neil Ferguson, the British government ditched its pandemic plan and locked the entire country down with disastrous and—as Sweden has proven—unnecessary consequences. It was the first of many dreadful mistakes the government made during the Covid pandemic: shutting schools at the behest of unions, assuming the virus was not airborne, vaccinating children, and overclaiming for vaccines and masks. Government thought it knew best and let us down.

Eliora: Five Years Ago, Tyranny Took Over

Five years ago, Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus, the World Health Organization Director-General (and not a medical doctor), announced to the world that Covid-19 virus was a pandemic.

Covid is a time in history. We all remember exactly how we felt from the initial mention of a deadly virus and even more what happened to us after that. People considered rational, modern and educated succumbed to the greatest absurdities, fears and surveillance seen in this part of the world in our lifetime.

DTNZ: Trump labels WHO a ‘Corrupt Globalist Scam’, pledges U.S. withdrawal

In a recent speech president-elect Donald Trump slammed the World Health Organization (WHO), saying it had become a “corrupt globalist scam” under heavy influence from China.

Trump suggested that while the United States contributes significantly more financially to the WHO than China, it has little control over its policies, which he claims are aligned with Chinese interests.

Dr Guy Hatchard: Open Letter to Journalists—A Time for Review

Dear Media Representatives

It has been 5 long years since the earliest COVID-19 cases were noticed in November 2019. Last Saturday, I gave a talk in Whangarei where I was able to look back, discuss the way ahead and answer questions. I reached the conclusion that we need a review. We need to take a long hard look at the events and outcomes of the last five years and then have some serious conversations.

The role of journalists is not just to entertain, but to tell us what is going on in society. They look for truths under the surface and behind the scenes and then share their insights. They are unafraid to ask questions, even if the answers are sometimes unpalatable.

Ian Bradford: UK Professor says billions need to die to “save the planet.”

Just over  a week ago,  Bill McGuire, an Emeritus Professor at University College London said this:  If I am brutally honest, the only realistic way I can see emissions falling as fast as they need to, to avoid catastrophic climate breakdown is the culling of human population by a pandemic with a very high fatality rate.”

The issue of ‘overpopulation’ is one that has been long present in the climate science community but is rarely discussed in public in the stark terms employed by McGuire.  McGuire is articulating what some in the climate alarmist camp actually believe. A view that climate change is really about overpopulation is not that uncommon among climate alarmists.

Matt Ridley: The shameless cover up of the lab leak theory

The more I think about it the more enraged it makes me. Back in late November, senior Tory minister Michael Gove was slapped down by the UK Covid inquiry’s head counsel, Hugo Keith, for raising the issue of where the virus originated. ‘There is a significant body of judgement that believes that the virus itself was man-made, and that presents challenges as well’, Gove said.

Gove was, I think, making the point that the question of Covid’s origins ought to matter to the inquiry. That’s because a laboratory-derived virus, being already trained on human cells, is bound to spread faster than one that has just jumped from an animal. And SARS‑CoV‑2 was unusually infectious for a pathogen new to the human species.

Professor Robert MacCulloch: Statistics shown to be wrongly estimated

Former PM Hipkins & Profs Bloomfield & Baker should be held accountable for quoting statistics that have now been shown to be wrongly estimated

Why are we still talking about Covid when many countries - like the US - have moved on? Well the US economy is currently booming and ours is stuck in the mud. The reason has emerged over time.

Lushington D Brady: It’s Not a Lie if They Believe

“Pandemic of Misinformation” Is a Lie

It’s an article of faith among the chattering classes that the nasty proles are simply too stupid to be allowed to think for ourselves. We’re witless sheep only fit to be herded hither and yon by “smarter” people. They even have a name for their snobbish delusion: “nudge theory”. Left to our own devices, we’re dangerous prey for “misinformation and disinformation”.

Not to mention conspiracy theories.

Dr John Campbell: The second pandemic

The UK's Dr John Campbell interviews Dr David Grimes, a consultant physician who is an expert on the importance of vitamin D to the proper functioning of our immune system, who explains that most populations are seriously deficient in this life-saving vitamin, which explains why so many people are getting sick with Covid and dying.

In particular he explains why the elderly, the obese and other populations groups are most at risk...

Jeffrey Tucker: How to be sick with intelligence and dignity

Writing with a second bout of COVID—yes, it’s annoying but I’ll get over it—I’m thinking about all that we’ve forgotten about sickness over the last four years, and also what we’ve learned and relearned.

It’s been a very strange time, when ruling class interest groups all decided to get together and utterly panic the world’s population over a respiratory virus that is not fatal for the overwhelming majority of people. Whole economies were wrecked, and lifespans are falling, not because of the virus but because of the way governments have responded to it.

Suze: Harvard Is Learning Lessons the Hard Way

Flying the flag of personal political opinion has consequences

Influences at work during Covid twisted our thinking using irrational fear and withholding solutions that might have alleviated those fears; in the process revealing the absence of three big-ticket political items: genuine political opposition, a properly functioning fourth estate and academic institutions exhibiting fair and open debate.

Ian Bradford: What a Joke

Reducing emissions as directed by the UN/IPCC and the Greenies, is actually warming the Earth.

It’s all to do with Aerosols.  In the atmosphere, aerosols in general,  block the sun’s radiation from reaching the Earth.  Aerosols are actually small particles or droplets, that float in the air.  They come in many forms, both natural and industrial and include, sea salt, mineral dust, ash, sulphates, nitrates and black carbon (soot). So we are talking about wildfire smoke, volcanic gases, and many human activities. Soot has a warming effect but this is well overshadowed by the cooling effect of the other aerosols.  In fact no one has taken much note of the cooling effect of aerosols, but scientists lately have found that their cooling effect may be greater than realised.

Kate Hawkesby: I'm not sure Kiwis are really willing to potentially mask up for another Christmas

I thought I was in a bad dream at the weekend when I saw the headline ‘Health experts recommend people wear masks and celebrate Christmas outdoors amid another Covid-19 wave.’

So, my first thought is – what ‘experts’ said this, and what wave? And how big is the wave? And when will we stop reporting waves?

Turns out it was Australia’s New South Wales Health Ministry who were saying there’d been a ‘moderate’ rise in Covid cases, and they’d asked people to consider wearing a mask inside crowded indoor spaces.

David Bell: How Did the Corruption of Public Health Happen?

International public health is a mess. Once seen generally as a public good, the focus of the World Health Organization (WHO) now more closely resembles a scheme for extracting private profit from the public purse. Wealthy corporations drive a ‘public-private partnership’ agenda, the foundations of the rich determine global priorities, and a propagandized public are ever more removed from decision-making regarding their own well-being.

David Bell & Hugh McCarthy: What they did to the children

Children, as any parent knows, are not small adults. Their brain is growing and being acutely shaped by their environment and experience. Social skills and values are learnt from those around them, with teamwork, risk-management, personal boundaries, and tolerance being learned through play with other children. Their immune system is imprinting environmental contact into a set of responses that will shape health in later life. Their bodies grow physically and become adept at physical skills. They learn both trust and mistrust through interaction with adults.

Professor Richard Epstein: “Disinformation” Campaign Vs. Open Debate

The Biden administration should be forbidden to pressure social-media companies to manipulate COVID discussion.

On July 4, in Missouri v. Biden, judge Terry A. Doughty issued a broad injunction whose primary function is to prevent the Department of Health and Human Services, the FBI, and multiple other federal agencies from speaking to or meeting with social-media companies for the purpose of “encouraging, pressuring, or inducing in any manner the removal, deletion, suppression, or reduction of content containing protected free speech.” The government has insisted throughout the litigation that its active cooperation with these companies is part of a vital public campaign to stop the spread of “disinformation” on social media, including its efforts to prevent what the Biden administration termed “vaccine hesitancy” on the part of the public.
