Barry Soper: There was no debate - Harris won

How on earth anyone can go out and vote for a man like Donald Trump is beyond me.

His stupidity in another setting would be certifiable and he'd be admitted to an institution for the confused, but this 78-year-old is running for what's arguably the most powerful job on earth - and if you listen to him, he'd have no problem in putting that power into action.

We were told in his first debate with Kamala Harris that he'd resolve the two and a half year old Ukraine slaughter even before taking the oath of office next January if he won in November and the conflicts in the Middle East would be a piece of the proverbial cake for him.

This is the same man who heightened the volatility on the North Korean peninsula by calling its leader 'Rocket Man'. After annoying him, they met and subsequently exchanged love letters. Nothing happened to reduce the tensions on the peninsula while Trump was in the Oval Office.

So what did we get from the man who wants to occupy the White House again? Nothing on how he was going to deal with the economic woes of the United States - other than dealing to illegal immigrants.

Every ill that America has at the moment is the fault of the Biden administration, he'd have the debate viewers believe. Like the 11 to 12 million immigrants in the country. They're not walking around waving signs about their immigration status, but Trump will round them up and send them home.

It seems Trump's animal welfare soldiers will be able to find out where they are. He says they're eating cats and dogs, people's pets - well that's what he said. Apparently that bizarre extrapolation came from someone he saw on telly saying their pet was missing.

And not only is this man morally conversative - when it comes to other people rather than himself that is - he wants to crack down on abortions. If you believe him, babies are being 'executed' after they've been born in the United States - which of course is offensive rubbish, as a debate moderator had to point out.

The bullet that grazed his ear a few months back has now been amplified by him saying he 'probably took a bullet to the head because of the things the Democrats say about him.'

Never looking at Harris, the would-be President accused her of trying to get transgender operations for 'illegal aliens' who are in prison.

It was pure, jaw dropping, off the rails stuff from Trump - but it should have been expected from a man who is like a disjointed word machine, spilling out verbiage without any thought.

It was said of Kamala Harris in the leadup to her first debate with Trump, and the first time she's actually met the man, that all eyes would be on whether she was a match for him.

Who wouldn't be? If he was a Joe Blow in a bar, you wouldn't give him the time of day.

Harris gave her view of what America should be looking for: "What's important is a President who actually brings values and a perspective, that is about lifting people up and not beating people down."

There was no debate: Harris won.

Barry, I saw it different . Trump is a leader , not a friend or associate. He doesnt need your acclamation and approval
I saw Harris as another Ardern , "we have a plan " "give money to everyone who she thinks will accept it" , "dont worry about the border into America,"
I was a prosecutor , Who cares what she does because it isnt productive
Then just like Ardern - why haven't the Democrats achieved something and just let business confidence and employment fail.
The saddest part of the debate iis even the Courts are corrupt in America and unbiased justice is unobtainable.

I see it rather differently too.
>Harris gave her view of what America should be looking for: "What's important is a President who actually brings values and a perspective, that is about lifting people up and not beating people down."
The 'values and perspective' she is on about are the marxofascist ones that have virtually negated the Enlightenment and brought us to an age where we are afraid of voicing unapproved-of opinions on social issues lest we are dobbed in to a State anti-freedom of speech committee and have our careers and indeed lives destroyed.
'Lifting people up' applies to fashionable racial groups and sexual deviants. 'Beating people down' continues but is now reserved for White sexually normal males especially those with conservative values such as meritocracy.
GO TRUMP!

I couldn’t agree with her more. Neither Kamala nor Trump are suitable candidates. Both of them ran the COVID racket at different times and both oppressed ordinary people in authoritarian ways in the name of public health. Their fruits are bad and they are simply salespeople for nefarious agendas promoted by the same group. Neither is deserving of the public’s vote. It’s snakes and grifters all round.

There is no doubt that Trump won that debate. Against him I saw a highly emotional woman who made a number of personal attacks. She also reminded me of Ardern. highly emotional people don't make good presidents. She had very little policy. If she and the Democrats were to win the election then the US is finished. That may have flow on effects for NZ.

One thing we need to remember about the American two horse race is that you're often left with two almost equally undesirable options. I liked this quote from an economics professor Alex Tabarrok "My takeaway is that a large number of people HATE the cultural left (not the econ left) and are willing to put up with almost anything, including incompetence, chaos, corruption and bad policy to signal their views loud and clear"

Anybody but Trump !
Why would you vote for somebody that constantly demonstrates that he is unstable and not fit a school committee ?

I'm inclined to agree with you, Basil.
No-one is saying that Trump is a nice man. Presidents don't need to be nice. They need to deliver.
And, on that score, from what we can make out, Trump's presidency was a success in delivering four years of peace and prosperity.
Compare that to Dopey Joe, and his deputy.

Trump had a good four years as President and on every metric America was going well, until covid hit. His foreign policy was excellent, no new wars. Unemployment was low, black unemployment lowest ever recorded, real wages rising. You might not like his personality but his policies were excellent.

Put away your cats and dogs and family pets, here comes 20 million illegal aliens who are going to eat them ! That's Kamala's fault . I know I blocked a bipartisan bill that would have strengthened border protections but that's Kamala's fault too.

And there gonna murder live babies. That's what Tim says !

And the Department of Justice is crooked, and the Judges are all crooked, and the prosecutors are all crooked and the juries crooked . It's all rigged against me, did I tell you ?

And I'm gonna round up all the illegal immigrants, there's gonna be bloodshed. And if I don't win the election there's gonna be bloodshed. Cos it would have been stolen, like the last one , it's all rigged against me, did I tell you ?

And when I win I'm gonna rip up the Constitution and round up all my opponents and put them in jail for a long long time. There's gonna be bloodshed .

And then I'm gonna tell Putin he can have Ukraine. And then I'm gonna have a party at the Whitehouse and I'm gonna invite all my buddies like Putin and Victor Orban and Kim Jong Un and Xi Jinping.

Cos they're the only buddies I've got, nobody from a Western Liberal Democracy will come near me .

Hey , if there's any rednecks like me down in NZ do ya wanna come to a party ?

Trump, like many politicians, is not someone you'd hold up to your children as an example of decent adult behaviour - but that's irrelevant to the job in question. For many voting in the US he'll get the tick because he reads the room, & your enemy's enemy is your friend.

And yeh , did I win that debate last night, the polls said I won by 150 % , yeh 150 %.

And my rallies are huge , the biggest in the world !

And did I tell you, the illegal aliens are eating cats and dogs and family pets, and that's Kamala's fault it was on TV !

Absolutely right on, Barry. How can anyone come to a different conclusion than to see Kamala wipe the floor of the guy. Kamala was great. And what relevance failed NZ PM Ardern has got in the, hopefully, path to the Whitehouse of Kamala is beyond me. God help us if Trump makes it back. What will his punitive tariff policy do for world trade for starters? He’s just a monster.

Tom Logan, literally nothing you have said in a very long post is correct. Not a single thing.

You are on your own planet Barry.

Tom, if all you say is correct then there should be no problem with winning. Yet your beloved Dems lost one by picking the worst candidate ever. Then sneaked in, just, with Biden. Now you are only borderline with Harris.

Why are all your friends so incompetent that they find picking a worthwhile candidate so difficult. Anyone but Trump is the worst reason possible. Just give the voters a half decent candidate.

Really? Because that's not the opinion of the American voters Barry, apparently up by two points.

What I found amusing was the girning did she get coached by Jacinda Ardern?

Apparently a whistle blower has claimed that Kamala knew all of the questions of the ABC debate prior, so that she could have time to memorise all her answers. Her commentary sounded very robotic much like Arderns when debating Collins in regards to the Covid questions etc...

Harris was also told that the ABC would not fact check her answers so she could lie and she did.

The other ABC journalist happened to be a sorority sister of Harris' from her Uni. days. "Linsey Davis calling herself Kamala Harris' sorority sister". If you Google that you'll see.

I have also heard that a Clinton advisor is calling for an investigation calling out election interference. Wait and see on that. ABC is Disney of course.

ABC lost 27 million U.S. after that debate with advertisers pulling their advertising. That's something TVNZ could use isn't it? I mean the 27 million U.S.

A popular meme going around. Have you heard it? "They're eating the dogs". It shows that the left can't meme. A joker made the dance track with DJT overlaid on the track that's become so popular there's been several other versions, everyone loves it and celebrating how funny Trump is sometimes. So funny. 'They're eating the dogs'

TJS said...

And the best version so far,
The lyric is

In Springfield...
They're eating the dogs,
They're eating the cats,
They're eating the pets,
Of the people that live there,
That put them there.
