The popular narrative suggests a solid victory to the students, with reports that the students created new law, that climate is now a mandatory consideration when offering petroleum permits. But the reality is the decision lands as an own goal against climate activism.

Having failed to garner enough political support to minimize or eliminate carbon-based fuels, nearly three dozen progressive jurisdictions have resorted to having friendly state judges circumvent the Constitution on national issues. They want no debate, no public referendums, no legislative process — just one like-minded judge penalizing energy companies for “causing climate change.”

First, it was “global warming”, then it became “climate change”. Next minute, it was “dangerous climate change”, then “climate emergency” and “climate crisis”. If you’re bewildered and frightened by all this linguistic prestidigitation, then it’s doing its job. Because scaring the pants off you and stopping you from thinking rationally is the whole point.
The people behind this stuff know exactly what they’re doing.
