Kerre Woodham: Ask not what your country can do for you

New Zealand Inc. is in trouble and it's on us —you and me— to fix it. Not politicians, not economists, not even our blessed farmers who've got us out of trouble time and time again – it is on us, New Zealand voters.

It doesn't matter whether we vote left or right, red, blue, green, yellow, or black. We all have to give our political parties the cojones they need to enact the policies that will save this country. Treasury's been warning us for years now, decades. Current government policies —whichever government has been in— are not sustainable.

Dr Michael Bassett: Is Paul Henry correct that New Zealand could be collapsing?

Was Paul Henry correct when he questioned whether New Zealand is on the skids? It’s something we need to ask now that our migration figures show we lost huge numbers of people last year who have gone overseas for greener pastures. The grizzles from Wellington, and particularly from the wrongly-named Public Service Association about the departmental layoffs, verge on the bizarre. What do they expect when a grossly extravagant Labour government increased the size of the bureaucracy by one third in six short years, producing no discernible improvement to outputs? And the sight of hundreds of young people in the streets last weekend baying against the “Fast Track” legislation only adds to Paul Henry’s argument. Too many Kiwis seem no longer interested in policies aimed at growing the national pie: they just want to eat their diminishing slice now, and clear off overseas if they are still feeling hungry.

Guy Hatchard: What Just Happened to New Zealand? Apparently It is All Our Own Fault

In the short space of three years, New Zealand society has been transformed. Our economic circumstances, our health landscape, our political ideas, our attitude to the rest of the world, and crucially, our social cohesion have undergone a sea change. This change has not been a positive step of progress. How was this allowed to happen? Was this imposed on us, or did we do it to ourselves?

Eliora: What Has Happened to New Zealand?

Kiwis are looking for a leader who will be a ‘nightmare’ – against wokeism and fascism.

New Zealanders are questioning what is going on. Frustration is building and more are asking the question, “What has happened to New Zealand?” It is so bad some say the country is close to being a failed state! There are big questions and big concerns.
