Frank Newman: Manilow fans join protest

MSM MEDIA: BREAKING NEWS
Manilow fans join protest

Main Stream Media is this morning reporting large numbers of Barry Manilow fans are joining the protest at Parliament grounds. What's is being dubbed the Manilow Surge, follows overnight enforcement action by the Speaker of the House, Trevor Mallard, to remove protesters from the grounds of Parliament, by playing his Spotify Top 25 songs of all time, which included tracks by Barry Manilow and the Macarena.
The previous evening the Speaker had attempted to enforce his authority by turning on the ground's water sprinklers. MSN understands the Wellington City Council is considering enforcement action against Mr Mallard for breaching level two water restrictions that currently apply in the Wellington area. The WCC has been contacted for comment but has not responded at the time this article went to print.
Those at the Freedom Camp were undeterred by the actions of the Speaker.
"It was awesome", said Mary, a 60-something year old from Eketáhuna. "I love Barry Manilow. His was the very first concert I went to and I have been praying for his return ever since".
Mary was at the grounds with fellow Manilow fan, Peter, who said, "I had the privilege of being at his 2017 performance on Broadway. The love of his music brought us together. One Voice is my favourite, but Mary loves Mandy."
The Macarena was also well received by camp residents, with some, but not all, performing excellent Macarena moves.
But not everyone was impressed with the approach taken by Trevor Mallard. MSM has confirmed that Wellington Noise Control received a number of complaints from residents living in the area.
A long-time resident of Molesworth Street who did not want to be named said this is not the first time they had complained about loud music coming out of Parliament.
"It happens all too often," they said, 'usually on the Thursday night after Parliament breaks up for the week. The boozy parties go on all night. They are the worst neighbours you could ever imagine. I would not wish it upon anyone".
The Freedom Camp organisers have advised that 'a how to dance the Macarena' class will be held at 2pm today. All welcome. Free admission. Vaccination passes are not required.

P.S. Apologies also to the residents of Eketáhuna, and more so to those in Eketáhuna who happen to be called Mary or Peter.

P.S. James Blunt has offered Police a hand if Barry Manilow does not work out for them.

Mr Luxon, Bridges and my own MP Muller wear their religion like a badge to be pinned to their lapel when needed.
Where is their voice? They seem to condone all this . The elderly and young succumbing to hypothermia I believe.

This vaccine mandate can't possibly be a health issue or Mallard would not be saturating the ground with sprinklers and using internment camp tactics on the protesters. There are a lot of people there.

Mallards beside reading must be " internment management skills for dummies".

Thank for the satire Frank. The good humour and wit surrounding this protest is admirable
