John Porter: Co-governance Is a Con Job

Today I’m advocating that Co-governance is nothing but a huge confidence trick being played on New Zealand by Maori activists and skillfully validated by Ardern’s treacherous Government.

Co-governance is most definitely not Maori activists’ goal: Maori sovereignty is the objective!

Co-governance is merely a stepping stone. The previous stepping stone was Co-management.

There was the 2010 Legislation covering Waikato-Tainui and its involvement in co-managing the Waikato River.

In 2012 Ngati Maniapoto entered into co-management arrangements with local government authorities for the Waipa river.

Then there was the co-management arrangements covering Ngati Tuwharetoa, Raukawa and Te Arawa river iwi covering the Waikato River from Te Toka a Tia near Taupo through to Karapiro.

Have you noticed how all the usual suspects in this Co-governance charade now refer to earlier Co-management agreements as Co-governance?

Another classic example of co-management being used as a “stalking Horse” is the Te Urewera National Park co-management with DOC agreed in 2014.

There is absolutely no evidence that co-management was ever intended by Tuhoe.

The park became a plaything for Tuhoe, the facilities fell into total disrepair, access to the lake was blocked and all the while Tuhoe were taking millions of dollars of taxpayer funding!

Te Urewera chairman and Tuhoe strongman, Tamati Kruger is very proud of his achievements regarding Te Urewera National Park: self-importantly stating, “We created a miracle some five years ago. We made a National Park disappear!”

But the biggest, most elaborate and subversive con of all is the 3 Waters Bill.

Most of the opposing rhetoric has centred around co-governance concerns.

But what is never mentioned and is of most concern is the power given to tribes by way of veto and the Te Mana o Te Wai statements.

They’re the biggest aspects of Three Waters reforms overlooked and never reported on by our MSM.

The Shyster Twins, Ardern and Mahuta, want everyone to think that Te Mana o Te Wai statements are only concerned with water purity. Nah, that’s nothing but political bullshit.

Te Mana o Te Wai statements give Maori representatives significant, open-ended power with no strict definitions, no boundaries, limits, or any other democratic safeguards.

Only iwi has the right to issue Te Mana o Te Wai edicts, which are binding on the Water Services Entity in their region.

That right is denied to non-Maori, who make up the remaining 84 per cent of the population.

Maori representatives would have the power, authority, and obligations of tangata whenua to make decisions that maintain, protect, and sustain the health and well-being of, and their relationship with, fresh water.

Veto power along with Te Mana o Te Wai statements hands tribes full control! Co-governance is a subterfuge, just the second step towards Maori sovereignty.

Government papers distributed late on Friday 11th, showed 3 Waters had now become 5 Waters! Te Mana o Te Wai now applies to freshwater, coastal water, and geothermal water.

So with veto and Te Mana o Te Wai power in their hands, what do you think the next step is? Show me the money of course!

Why was control extended to coastal water, and geothermal water? Revenue gathering of course!

Geothermal water is a byproduct of geothermal power generation; Royalties will abound!

Coastal water, 50 miles out. Same scenario. How much are fishing companies going to have to cough up to fish in that zone? Millions of course.

Why? Maori sovereignty of course.

How else do you fund a “Nation within a Nation?” I recall a $20 billion figure, quoted by activists, as being the amount needed from taxpayers to support the Maori sovereign nation.

My trepidation around this co-governance fraud relates to the way it is being abetted by Ardern, the momentum at which it is unfolding and the “jellyfish” impersonation that Luxon portrays regarding co-governance issues.

Our country is being stolen, right in front of our eyes!

It is impossible to get the genie back in the bottle, once released!

We are witnessing a massive overreach of power. To Ardern and her miscreant Maori caucus, integrity is an irritating word.

With taxpayers footing the bill, our political elite will stop at nothing to keep control. Voter concerns are ignored. Witness 80,000 public submissions on 3 Waters: absolutely disregarded!

New Zealand is sitting on a powder keg; the fuse is not yet lit but there are an ever-increasing number of people approaching the powder keg with a lighted match in their hand!

The death sentence was abolished for murder in 1961, and abolished for all crimes, including treason, in 1989.

But there will be a death sentence for treason in New Zealand: It will be the death of democracy, the death of freedom and the death of New Zealand as we know it!

And who is to blame?

If Mr Luxon and National have a cunning plan to “roar into life” closer to the election, and utterly condemn the loss of democracy and the transformation of NZ into an ethnocracy, then they are running an extremely risk-inclined strategy!

Where are the Labour Government ministers such as Parker, O’Connor, Nash, Woods et al? Are they so craven they will take their fleeting possession of power and, of course, the generous taxpayer-funded salaries, rather than stand up for our rights, stand up for democracy? Utterly shameful!

No, the blame can undoubtedly be laid at the feet of no one but Ardern!

She alone had the power to stop the rampant destruction of democracy.

PS Since writing this article the Government have taken further, undemocratic steps by way of adding a provision that means once Three Waters becomes law, it would take 60 per cent of MPs to overturn it, instead of a simple majority which applies to almost every law passed, except for a few constitutional matters.

John Porter is a citizen, deeply concerned about the loss of democracy and the insidious promotion of separatism by our current government. This article was first published HERE

I agree with you John, Maori Sovereignty is the end objective.

The scary thing here is what is currently being bulldozed through parliament should never happen and the opposition parties are almost silent in their opposition. Are they too complicit ? If yes then our whole political system is totally screwed.

I must admit I am very disappointed with National who have not offered any firm statements about what they will do to sort this mess out which in itself is of major concern.

National started 3 waters in 2016. They say they will "repeal and replace 3 waters" Replace with what?

I agree. National is too quiet on this. Matt King with his new and registered party DemocracyNZ is speaking up and taking a stand

It seems some are awakening to the flaw of co management/governance. One collaborator on the non maori side swings control. According RNZ the Auckland mayor and councillors have voted off the part maori leader of the Auckland Council side of the Tupuna Maunga Authority. However, finding a whole team all sufficiently bold to question maori will be no mean feat. All the time spent wrangling will be a cost to ratepayers who will be delighted to know their money is being spent so procductively.

This government, including National, is replacing Democracy with a Communist Dictatorship. I'm coming to the conclusion there won't be another election in NZ. It's all but too little to late.
