When exactly did New Zealand trade its spine for a dreamcatcher? How did we go from a country built on secular democracy to one where legal decisions are being bent to appease ancient superstitions? Tikanga Māori isn’t law. It’s belief. And belief has no place sitting in the judge’s chair.
Let’s stop pretending this is “inclusive.” It’s invasive. It’s theocratic creep. We're watching the justice system mutate into a spiritual sideshow — where laws bow to the invisible, and facts are forced to fight phantoms. We're not building bridges. We're building altars.
And the politicians? Spineless cowards, the lot of them. They won’t touch it. They're terrified. Paralyzed by fear of being called the dreaded R-word. So instead of leading, they kneel — genuflecting at the altar of “mana” and “tikanga,” treating criticism like blasphemy. This isn’t leadership. It’s surrender.
You want to believe in ancestral spirits? Be my guest. But don’t you dare shove it into legislation. Don’t you dare weaponize belief and call it justice. That’s not culture — that’s coercion.
Tikanga is a spiritual worldview. It’s not universal, not measurable, and sure as hell not objective. It's about feelings, vibes, and inherited mythology — the legal equivalent of consulting a ouija board. You can't debate it, you can't question it, you can't even define it half the time. It shifts like smoke and stinks just as much when it’s forced into the lungs of democracy.
The tragedy? The public didn’t vote for this. They didn’t ask for their secular courts to start speaking in riddles and appeasing wairua. But it’s happening anyway — quietly, insidiously, under the guise of “respect.” Respect? You don’t respect a nation by feeding it spiritual dogma. You suffocate it.
We need a hard reset. Not soft conversations. Not tiptoeing. A full-throated, unapologetic rejection of superstition in law. We owe it to reason. We owe it to democracy. We owe it to every citizen who wants to live in a country ruled by evidence — not enchantment.
And if you’re still clinging to the fantasy that this isn’t happening — wake the hell up. Your future's being carved up by mystics in suits while you nod politely, afraid to offend.
It’s time to offend.

To the point and totally accurate! Where has logic disappeared to? Maori will keep pushing to take control for as long as our government will let them, determined to take us back to their 1840’s form of leadership, but with all the benefits accrued via colonisation. The future of NZ is at stake. Time for Luxon to start reading between the lines and claw back our once great country. The economy will be of minor importance if we don’t have racial harmony.
John , Absolutely and unapoligetically correct in every word .
PM Luxon is unreservedly not an appropriate leader of New Zealand.
What people don't realise, and this is the real "fly in the ointment" is that many of our politicians, judges, academics and clergy are 100% behind this Maorification. They instigated it. It is no longer useful or even sensible to appeal to these people, as so many are doing. The only way forward to achieve a serene, equal and democratic future is to target and vote for people in the next election who want this division gone.
Fighting words, John. What are YOU doing about it, other than posting rants in a conservative echo-chamber blog? Are you, for example, protesting outside parliament?
“The tragedy? The public didn’t vote for this”, (or any other apartheid coercive 1841 English version TOW fraud and lies into Acts, statutes and legislation).
Damn right! Every. Single. Word.
I fully support your comments and simmering anger John and there are so many of us who do. Will it take an army of protesters to move the dial on this government? A General strike? It's not what we need but sometimes needs must...also it seems the older generation care most about this as the younger ones have been literally brainwashed. They are allowing a dissipation of their rights which are being filched from before their unseeing eyes. Even family members will not discuss this matter. We need new political leadership, destruction of the MSM (easily done, withdraw funding Winston) and Parliament to assert its Sovereignty. Remove the Maori seats. Disband Waitangi Tribunal. Just starting points. This matter is very urgent now. MC
This incident might demonstrate if NZers, themselves, are ready to offend.....or, will they continue with the easy option of looking the other way? This moment must come. Is it now?
Bulls eye John.
Very very well said Racial Harmony surely takes precedence
Bulls Eye indeed. Best move now? General Strike? Will need organising... but we have the internet, iphones... Aucklanders got phone warnings re recent big fire... the system is ready...
You must be joking! It has already been pointed out in the piece above how spineless politicians are, so how is a protest going to gain traction? Most protests (the recent shambles as an example) are so diffuse in the message(s) they offer that they are just a risible waste of time. The ballot box might be considered the only way with some hope, but today's coalition shows that even the democratic system is letting us down. We just have to hope that the current diffusion of horse manure within our society, will by its offensive odour, eventually encourage a change of thought and direction among the population. Revolution might be the answer, but evolution has more certain outcomes.
Right around the Anglophone world there seems to be a very well-funded, and now longstanding effort to destroy the British-based culture that these various countries possess at their foundations. The ‘elite’ part Maori and their treasonous allies are it seems being used as a club, or perhaps a poison chalice, to attack the NZ part of this world. Other processes are being used elsewhere. Once you see it you can’t fail to notice the strategy. Our defence will have to be extensive, consistent and determined. No-one is coming to save this country. We will have to do it ourselves.
Janine above: Right - CRT now controls key institutions.
Hugh above: NZers do not protest - they vote for change at elections... or, as in this instance, they are just leaving. NZ politicians can easily predict voter reaction.
I am white. I'm not a racist. The colour of my skin is irrelevant. I am proud of my heritage. I recognise the contribution of that heritage to New Zealand's cultural, economic and spiritual development. That heritage will survive. I will not be coerced or forced to capitulate my right to exist by force or by threats by those who cast harsh or unfair aspersions on my right to be equal. The government needs to act now against those who would strip the rights of other New Zealanders with claims that do not align with reality. This government should remember that the path to an apartheid state and the triumph of evil is assured if they continue to do nothing.
Brilliant!
People have said this for over 2-3 years - even before Ardern left. Nothing is done. Rather Maorification is intensifying - each day.
