I tried to watch TV1's dawn service this morning but had to turn away and go and watch something else. As in other recent years, post Ardern, our most reverential day, the day that all NZers and Aussies come together to remember those that served and those that fell in the global wars, has also been hijacked by the maori everything set.
I did try but the first ten minutes was a collection of maori commentary from obviously maori commentators, loud howling waiata and speeches in Maori. All this before a single word in English was uttered. Thereafter there was any excuse to slot in anything maori connected.
This is not to take away the huge sacrifice that maori soldiers made during the conflict, but this was a European and Pacific conflict commemoration, where many nationalities served, Maori being some of the lesser numbers of them. White soldiers made up the larger New Zealand contingent but you wouldn't think so listening to the disgracefully biased way the dawn service was portrayed.
Nobody has any objection to a large nod to Maori during the service, but get it into perspective and don't insult the greater portion of New Zealand by pretending we are all maori. We are not.
But then again, what would we expect from a broadcaster that is a national disgrace, that has spent years pushing race issues and DEI...?
However we would expect a lot more from whoever it was that planned and executed that maori centric display on the day that we all observe.
I thought it was a disgrace and very disrespectful to white New Zealanders that had family that served and were wounded during the conflicts, including mine.
It is way past time these tribalists were pulled back into line.

Fully agree Rod. I watched the news on TV and asked myself:" what about talking to or featuring non-maoris? In WWI about 4.5% of maoris participated and in WWII they made around 20% of NZ forces, but yesterday it was almost 100% maori. What a bloody insult to my 3 dead great -uncles, and serving, but surviving aunt, and another uncle. The pendulum needs to swing (as do those of woke persuasion who perpetrate this travesty).
De-fund the media. Let them sink the rest of the way to the bottom of the mud they swirled up from the depths. How do they think that they are relevant, never mind acceptable? MC
Again, the Coalition did not de-fund the media as a top- priority after victory in 2023 and so has suffered daily denigration and huge damage ever since.
Question: why would any government do this? Makes no sense.
My family have strong RSA links .The Maori issue is the NZ Governments spineless approach to the apartheid encroaching on NZ like a runaway train. However the despicable fraternity who support the apartheid march into NZ is the Judiciary et al.
The Judiciary especially the higher courts onsider they have the right to misconstrue parliamentary law and replace it with their opinion.
The Judiciary simply repudiate democracy and by definition introduce anarchy and division.
'persons' identifying as maori, are just THAT-identifying!!!!
only refer to THAT when you are engaging with people-get it in 'their' heads-'maori party types' are playing 'the emperors new clothes' gimmick.
A disgraceful day.... end of !! ..
Absolutely well summed up.
Let's pull back for a 30,000 foot view here: what is the fundamental premise for the post-WW2 world, characterised by multiculturalism, indigenous grievance culture, "anti-colonialism" (otherwise known as anti-White people) and so on? It is that "the Nazis" (i.e. a White collectivist project) were antithetical to these premises.
Ironically, for this reason, it is not an exaggeration that the defeat of Nazi Germany has directly led to, in our case, the Maorification of New Zealand society, and in so many other cases in a more advanced way but increasingly here too, the increasing erasure of White culture across the European world.
I think many people assume that what the soldiers in WW2 were fighting for has since been betrayed, but in fact, we have gotten exactly what they were fighting for. The thing is, they were never told exactly what they were fighting for.
@ Basil et al. Understand that the push to get us all to obey Maori diktats, backed up by the judiciary comes from EXACTLY the same source that insisted, before enough time had possibly passed, and enough studies possibly could have been done, that the covid ‘vaccines’ were safe and effective.
Every time you argue in favour of the safe and effective narrative and belittle those who speak otherwise you are cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Until people, obviously basically smart and caring people, like you, can see this bigger picture and articulate it, you will lose this fight.
My sense is that many people in your position just cannot accept they were duped into taking an unsafe and ineffective experimental gene therapy.
But you have to.
If you don’t, ALL your outcry about the maori take over of New Zealand will be for naught.
I agree with Rod and the sentiments of Allen Heath. What a bloody insult to my Uncle who gave his life and the many other non-Maori that did similarly. All very well to acknowledge the great efforts made by Maori, but not at the expense of the greater majority who did more, including those who also made the ultimate sacrifice?
Switched on the TV and was mystified. Though it was a re-run of the Maori Wars. Took me a few minutes to realise that only Maoris fought WWI and II, not that they fought so well alongside other New Zealanders of differing ethnicity. Obviously NZ History needs further re-writing.
Switched off. Won't bother watching next year and too old to attend dawn parade.
I have a feeling that many others will do the same.
This so-called government of ours needs replacing, especially Luxon.
I could not understand the relevance of haka performed on Anzac day in front of the symbolic graves of the fallen. Is there a cultural reference I am missing? Sorry for the dumb question...
I just read your blog on BB&H. My thoughts exactly. I was disgusted by the extremely disrespectful brown wash coverage. The MSN, TV & film producers & even the advertising industry now racially profile who they interview & who act in their productions. White faces are being erased from the face of our earth. Yes this DEI in action & it has a name, "the great replacement". This stuff is getting worse every day & must be stopped in its tracks. Defunding TVNZ & RNZ would be a good start. Unfortunately this won't happen under National, Labour or any other major woke globalist political party. All kiwi citizens are first & foremost NZ'ers under one flag, constitution & law, with passports to prove it. We, the great unwashed, need to stand up, scream our resistance from the roof tops & fight back. We also desperately need a genuinely patriotic, anti-woke political party capable of uniting our country & taking a firm stand against the radical maori insurgency. We urgently need to take our country back from the lunatics in power, as the danger of civil war is looking increasingly likely .
I went to the Dawn Parade at the Cenotaph at Mount Maunganui. A lovely setting for a moving service. The Ode was given in Maori and then in English. Similarly the Anthems. The speeches and prayers were in English, as was the vast majority of the very large audience. Beautiful. The ceremony shouldn’t be on TV anyway; it’s got to be in-person.
My uncle was at the break out at Mingar Qaim, Western Desert 1942.
The 28th Battlion performed a haka just prior to the "go".
He described it as spine tingling, and as the last time that a haka was done for the proper reason - about to go into battle and kill.
Haka done today are just theatrical pieces whether by All Blacks , or tattooed women in Parliament.
Too true. Good folk DUPED. Lets work on way to open eyes.
Be grateful. The crap has not reached you... yet..
Thanks Anon @1041 for your response. I understand haka to be a war cry. It might be relevant before a rugby match to challenge your opponents, but I couldn't understand why someone would challenge the dead who can't reciprocate. If it was a performance art, surely it doesn't belong to an event like the dawn service on ANZAC day.
A disproportionate number of brown faces attended the pope's funeral as well .
