Welcome to episode 5 of 2026 Election Issues in a Nutshell.
$1.093 billion!
Below is another episode broadcast by The Anglo Saxon.
In this episode (below) the Anglo Saxon focusses on the Maori Health Authority and Maori Health providers, highlighting the extreme costs to the taxpayer.
The Anglo Saxon includes excerpts from a Q&A programme with Jack Tame interviewing Willie Jackson on Labours stance on the Maori Health Authority. It’s amazing, Jackson simply spouts gibberish. I think I have seen more sense come out of the mouth of a ventriloquists dummy, without the ventriloquist!
Tame tries to tie Willie down on whether Labour will reinstate the Maori Health Authority. Willie says “…we haven’t decided.” Tame counters with “…10 weeks out from an election and Labour hasn’t decided?”
According to Willie, Maori health providers claim they “…don’t get equity”, “…the government just feed them crumbs” And then, of course, here come the hands out for more money. “Maori health providers want more devolvement”, “they want more resources”, “…they want more FUNDING.”
Jackson’s most outrageous claim is, “we’re living off the smell of an oily rag.”

Jackson’s pathetic “oily rag” narrative is an outright deception. That supposed pittance amounted to a staggering $529.8 million in 2019/20, ballooning to $999.8 million by 2023/24—a massive 88.7% surge of $469.9 million. Appallingly, the bleeding doesn’t stop there; it climbed to a monstrous $1.093 billion in taxpayer funding during the 2024/25 financial year.
One has to wonder: how much is ever enough for this bottomless pit? The reality is clear, taxpayers could never empty their pockets fast enough to satisfy them! So long as a weak-willed, foolish governments continue to pump astronomical sums into the pockets of the, so called, Maori elite and their families, the demands will only intensify.
That Chris Luxon, Simeon Brown, and Tama Potaka complacently stand by and permit this relentless laundering of taxpayer cash to Maori health providers, where some executives are reportedly pocketing eye watering $500,000 salaries is nothing short of gross financial ineptitude!

These Maori health providers needed to audited on outcomes. If they are not meeting KPIs they should have all funding stopped.
And, for that $Billion, how much have the Maori health statistics improved? Meanwhile the Tamihere founded Waipareira Trust, Jackson founded MUMA, and the Matahaere linked Te Kaika/Otakou Health continue to hoover up vast sums of taxpayer dosh to support their Rangatira-like lifestyles. And, how is it that Jackson still hasn't be brought to account for his involvement with the workplace bullying and Board sacking matters where his wife currently is CEO of MUMA? An organisation where its income went from $3Million to over $16Million in just one year, while sitting on $10Million in the bank! All giving the appearance of one rule for thee, quite another for me?
And what from our useless MSM - crickets! It's no wonder this country is in a dire financial straits and so much of it leads back to that one Hydra-like cohort. Maori health - it's truly sickening!
Your last paragraph sums it up beautifully. Chris Luxon, Simeon Brown, and Tama Potaka , relentless laundering of taxpayer cash
Makes my blood boil. National will be surprised at the results on 8th nov

Wouldn’t this low hanging fruit make an easy target for our pretend finance minister to harvest than pursuing her supermarket fantasy? Coupled with Luxon’s cowardice, makes National almost unelectable running the great risk of allowing the left wing crazies back into power. Vote Act.
Obviously this is not an election issue. Unemployment? Zombie economy? Record homelessness? Losing our open trade access to EU countries? Rising inflation? Bonfire climate? Anyone? Bueller?
