Kiwis are being asked to vote in the November 26 election and some don’t trust any party.

Never has there been such cynicism about politics and the country’s direction. It cuts across many age groups,but the 65+ group includes those who say they are so fed up they don’t even want to vote in the next election. They recall how badly the government treated them at crucial times. They say they are sick and tired of the arrogance and shenanigans surrounding our politicians. The electioneering palaver, ‘Trust us, yes, we’ve messed up, we’ve misled you with our promises but (implied) we’re slightly less corrupt than the other parties,’ isn’t cutting the mustard any longer. One big negative looms large. Voters are ‘still burdened by the failures of the Ardern years’ and indicate it was so bad for them it has affected whether they will vote or not. More on that later.

Think strategically folks! Which leader will conservative Kiwis vote for next year? Luxon, Seymour or Peters or...waste a vote on a very minor party? Conservative Kiwis are smart. Eliora: National Is Taking a Silly Punt

Māorification of New Zealand is turning people off.

Under the education minister’s oversight, a ‘paramount objective’ for school boards is that local tikanga Māori, mātauranga Māori and te ao Māori is taught in schools. The National Party currently seem hellbent on quietly embedding all things Māori into legislation. When found out, Minister Erica Stanford got on her high horse, trying to reign in the criticism and limit the damage. The line from Hamlet, “The lady doth protest too much, methinks” seems rather appropriate. Clearly, the insults thrown at Hobson’s Pledge blaming them for ‘spreading lies and misinformation’ for simply pointing out her racist legislation, suggests an overreaction or excessive defence.

We in New Zealand suffered years of utter despair caused by the aptly described ‘worst prime minister the country has ever experienced’. Jacinda Ardern ruled with ruthless nastiness, under the hypocritical guise of being ‘kind’. Ardern was mean, fake and deceitful.

‘Old(er)’ age has a lot going for it. Maturity has additional advantages, markedly if you are a leader, such as Donald Trump or Winston Peters. Their maturity gives wisdom, drive, history of things to avoid, opportunity to develop beliefs, more time to be comfortable in their own skin, a tendency to see the broader perspective, determination to leave a legacy and the confidence to make fast-paced, good, decisions. When Jacinda Ardern first came to notoriety in New Zealand, reactions were radically different right from the start. One person said, “I like the way she speaks.” Another summed her up saying, “She’s a dangerous woman.” In short, the lack of awareness was a problem and she fooled a lot of people.

Inside, or perhaps despite the drama of the Covid pandemic, some have found freedom and with it a new lease of life. The so-called awake world managed to mentally fight against the elites’ new world order enough to reject at least some of their severe totalitarian controls. Dubious psychological tactics were used to ‘force’ humanity into compliance and they were so bad that most succumbed. Some well-known high-profile veteran broadcasters, like Tucker Carlson in the US and Peter Williams in New Zealand, did not, however.
