Colinxy: The Duplicitousness of Leftist Freedom
Labels: Colinxy, freedom, Repression, The leftThe False Banner of Liberty
From its inception, the Left has proclaimed itself the champion of freedom. Its rhetoric is filled with promises of liberation, equality, and fraternity. Yet history reveals a darker truth: whenever Leftist movements seize power, their definition of “freedom” collapses into coercion, censorship, and violence. The banner of liberty becomes a mask for tyranny.

JC: What Is It With the Left?
Labels: JC, The leftThe moral is to never let the left near the levers of power, or disaster will surely follow.
When the left hold power, there only disaster, born out of ideology and ignorance. They don’t have a rational understanding of economics or wealth growing and their ideology has more holes in it than a watering can rose so the population gets hit with floods of legislation that only hinder and damage growth. This is apparent currently in the United Kingdom and in many American States.

Insights From Social Media: The left's inability to laugh
Labels: Colinxy, Comedy, Humour, Insights From Social Media, Laugh, The leftTruth in Jest by Colinxy.
"Many a truth is spoken in jest"
Humour has always been one of humanity’s most subversive tools. It pierces pretence, exposes hypocrisy, and reveals uncomfortable realities in ways that solemn argument cannot. A joke can slip past defences, planting truth in the mind before ideology has time to react. Yet in our age, the Left seems uniquely incapable of laughing—especially when the joke is at their expense. They live within ideology, and ideology cannot abide ridicule. To laugh at it is to admit its fragility, and fragility is what they fear most.

Ani O'Brien: When the Left decides violence is justified
Labels: Ani O'Brien, Charlie Kirk, The left, ViolenceCharlie Kirk’s assassination could have been a moment of unified horror bringing together anyone who values democracy, free speech, or civil society. That it was not is cause for great alarm and demonstrates that society-wide political animosity is at dangerous levels. Kirk was not killed in an accident. He was hunted, targeted, and gunned down in front of an audience because of his political views. His killer didn’t just dislike what Kirk said, he believed Kirk’s very existence was intolerable and he was justified in eliminating him. This is the culmination of years of rhetoric from the left that frames conservatives not as political opponents but as evil incarnate, “hatemongers” whose words are literal violence. Once you have convinced people that speech is violence, it is only a small step to convince them that real violence is simply “self-defence.”

John McLean: New Zealand left's extreme difficulty with violence
Labels: Charlie Kirk, Free speech, John McLean, Radio New Zealand (RNZ), The leftRadio New Zealand’s highly selective approach to violence
I’ve just listened to Radio New Zealand’s 6pm news. That news segment covered various items; flooding in Bali, the Maori Party disingenuously purporting to distance itself from Takuta Ferris’ brazen racism…other minor stuff.
What RNZ’s news bulletin studiously did not cover is the killing of a prominent American political and social commentator named Charlie Kirk, a decidedly newsworthy event in the Western world. Kirk has been shot dead within the last day.

Ani O'Brien: Why the 'privileged' Left is enchanted by socialism....
Labels: Ani O'Brien, Donald Trump, Socialism, The leftDivergence of dissatisfaction: why the 'privileged' Left is enchanted by socialism
In 2020, I wrote the below (scroll down) analysis of why Americans vote for Trump. Especially why the working classes have had a sharp turn to the Right and enthusiastic support for the 45th and 47th President. Still recovering from a bad case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that had been declining since 2018 or so, I called for empathy and understanding for these voters. I figure it is only fair that I do the same for the substantial bloc on the Left who are veering toward a different kind of populism; one that embraces the repeatedly failed socialist system.

Yvonne Van Dongen: The Guilty Leftist
Labels: Pay equity, The left, Yvonne Van Dongen“I don’t believe in pay equity. There - I’ve said it.”
This admission in a text from a friend this week made me laugh. This is what passes for scandalous these days for those of us formerly of the left. Having been catapulted out from our tribe courtesy their gender ideological erasure of women, we don’t know what to think anymore. Gone is the set menu of acceptable views we once unthinkingly shared, gone is the certainty that our side were the kind folk and gone are the kind folk tbh. Not so kind when you don’t agree with them.

JC: The Left Are Digging for Defeat
Labels: Halls of Power, JC, The leftWhile Shane Jones is digging holes for prosperity, the left is digging holes for adversity. These are rabbit holes they are going down at an ever-increasing rate. If Labour are too lazy to dig their own, they needn’t worry because their prospective coalition partners are doing it for them. The Greens in particular have the shovels out and are using them to great effect, especially for those of us on the right.

JC: The Left Are Unfit to Govern
Labels: JC, The left, The MediaMany of us have been aware over our lifetime that the left are unfit to govern. Considering the events of the past week, one could justifiably add the word manifestly. Nobody with an ounce of common sense would consider them a viable alternative to the current government. No one in their right mind would entertain these out of touch loons being let anywhere near the levers of power. They are a complete disgrace, the lot of them, and, whether they realise it or not, they are consigning themselves to the dustbin of history.

Cam Slater: It’s Ok When the Left Does It
Labels: Cam Slater, Grant Robertson, John Boscawen, Politicians abused, The leftRemember when the left thought chucking lamingtons at politicians was funny? I do.
Grant Robertson has decided to hold a pity party over the amount of abuse Labour politicians are copping when they dare to saunter arrogantly outside of the Wellington Beltway. He has complained that some protestors called him mean things and one had a lamington that may or may not possibly have been used as a projectile. He’s upset about it but forgets when the left did similar things. Apparently, it’s ok when the left does it.
