Bishop outlines challenges for new National Infrastructure Agency while Collins names woman as Army chief

Infrastructure Minister Chris Bishop announced plans for the establishment later this year of the National Infrastructure Agency, unlocking access to more capital for infrastructure and strengthening the Government’s private finance and commercial capability, when he addressed the Building Nations 2024 conference.

He also informed his audience about the National Infrastructure Plan.

Two items of interest to foreign-affairs buffs were released from the Beehive today.

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon will travel to Malaysia and the Republic of Korea next week, accompanied by a senior business delegation.

Roll up, oinkers – Shane Jones is calling hogs to a new trough, not as rich as the PGF, true, but a $1.2bn swill must be tempting

When it has been filled with a swill funded by taxpayers and invitations have been issued to various organisations to come and slurp, it’s fair to suppose it is a trough. This likelihood is increased significantly when we learn the invitation to come and slurp is issued by Shane Jones.

O’Connor is pushing for new trade arrangements while his colleagues press voters for electoral support

The buzz was subdued over the weekend, perhaps because Beehive big-wigs’ offices were abandoned for the launch of Labour’s election campaign (which ministers aspiring the keep their jobs, salaries and associated baubles will hope is successful).

One Minister who did find time to make an announcement was Barbara Edmonds, Minister for Pacific Peoples (a portfolio that will disappear if ACT has any influence in the next government).
