Cam Slater: Media Still Acting like Petulant Children

Bryce Edwards is the latest media luvvie to have a crack at the negotiations like a petulant child, except this time he is attacking Christopher Luxon for an apparent lack of skill in negotiating. The media speculation is starting to get tiresome.

It is even more tiresome when Edwards references the ultimate petulant sulky child, Matthew Hooton. He is bitching about Christopher Luxon too, but remember this was the fool who told us that Todd Muller was going to be not only a brilliant leader of the National Party, but also the next Prime Minister. Muller then imploded in spectacular fashion, directly contributing to National’s drubbing in the 2020 election.

Neither of these clowns has bothered to note that it is a mere two weeks since the final votes were known after the special votes were counted.

Are they suggesting that National and Act should have negotiated a majority agreement BEFORE all the votes were counted?

This behaviour by media and commenters does not bode well for the future of any semblance of unbiased reporting. It’s quite pathetic really.

Naturally, they are all blaming Winston Peters for this set of circumstances, mainly because they have a pathological hatred of Peters and have a proven track record of their loathing. Anything they say should be tempered against that background.

Much and all as I enjoy kicking Luxon in the balls, this time I cannot see any merit in the arguments. It’s only been two weeks; that’s nothing. They are nearly there so what is a few more days?

It seems that these arbitrary deadlines and timeframes are because the media fools are being locked out of any inkling of what is going on by the three leaders, meeting on private premises at different locations. The media darlings can’t rely on their treasonous snitches and shadowy leakers, and that is a fine thing.

Patience is a virtue, and the media seem to have none. Meanwhile, the rest of the country, other than the political tragics, are getting on with life irrespective of whether we have a government sworn in or not.

You are quite right. I think it really unfair of these people to criticise Luxon for attempting to do a very difficult job in what is really a very short time. Most of these sneery creeps could talk the trunk off an elephant but it is unlikely they could ever do anything of any real value.

They are like entitled children, throwing tantrums like 2-year-olds. I was so pleased when we didn't have to see JA's face every day and then it's been nice not to see Chippy as well. It's been lovely having no government to spray economic and eco and climate doom at us all the time. And I hope Winston is really enjoying himself as he stitches up the other two who think they are everything to everyone but will need to learn to respect him.

The corrupt MSM has not yet forgiven the NZ voters for failing to back their Marxist benefactors. They tried very hard to shape public opinion in favour of the most destructive government ever to have taken office. I am certainly looking forward to the fruits of this three way battle. We may see the net zero nonsense being kicked into touch or a real discussion about the serious implications of the experimental covid vaccine or the cancellation of apartheid. All those subjects that the corrupt MSM choose not to challenge.

I agree with you about Mathew Hooton but think you are unnecessarily harsh in your treatment of Todd Muller.
At least Todd had the good grace to admit he was finding the leadership tougher than he thought and his continuation in the circumstances had become untenable.
As a consequence he resigned from a prestigious position that few politicians ever get the chance to occupy.
The fact that he did so, when others would have carried on in Joe Biden style, is something the National Party should reward him for because his successor couldn’t change the inevitable either. In fact Judith Collins went on to lead the party to one of its worst defeats in its entire history. Nobody can fully understand the trauma being faced by those who suffer from mental illness unless they have been through a similar experience in their own lives.
Knowing him as l do, Todd Muller has always only been interested in what he can do to improve the lives of those who are less fortunate.
That is one of the reasons why his colleagues elected him to the leadership in the first place.
It is not his fault that the tide was going out for National and the Empress with no clothes had successfully hoodwinked a majority of citizens that she had all the answers to our Covid ravaged economy.
The fact that we are now in possession of the facts surrounding her clandestine betrayal of her own adds little comfort to those, like Todd Muller who became collateral damage in the process. He deserves better now that the truth is known

It is not as if there are no subjects the msm could content themselves with. None seem to havev seriously pondered the influene of maorification, the te reo crusade, the universal pro maori attitude, excessive unaccounted support, the power of the maori caucus, the fear of total maori control via co goverance, or the exact machanism of.

If Labour had spent soem time negotiating and agreeing policy with their maori caucus at the utset they just might still be govt.
