Clive Bibby: Fighting for our survival as a free society

It must be obvious to anybody watching the Middle East conflict and the reaction to it from nations throughout the world that this war is not just about whether a peaceful solution can be found. But, and more importantly - whether this localised scrap between old foes is actually a mirror image of a larger battle that must be fought across the globe between the forces of good and evil.

In my humble opinion, this situation has all the hallmarks of one spreading to all corners of the earth, eventually involving even those, like us, who would appear to be safely far away from the slaughter that reaches our TV screens on a daily basis.

One could be forgiven for thinking that this momentarily confined war is maybe only the opening salvo of what the Bible describes as Armageddon.

However, irrespective of individual belief in Biblical prophecy, the facts remain that we should all be concerned about the potential this conflict has for engulfing the whole world.

So, it behoves us all to pressure our respective governments into acting in the best interests of those they have been elected to represent.

And for that to happen, it will take more than the “woke” responses (‘bob each way’) we have seen from most of the leaders of Western civilisation to date.

We need to see this current battle between Israel and the radical Muslim terrorists for what it is. It simply will not do if our leaders equivocate with their support of Israel in a situation where the main weapon being used by those terror groups in the propaganda war is one when false outrage is allowed to fester within the capitals of western democracies. We have the ability to shut these illegitimate protests down before they get out of hand. Yet our woke leadership is reluctant to do so for fear of being labelled abusers of minority group human rights.

It has become farcical that those democratically elected governments, insecure in their own country, should allow these protests to affect their judgement to the extent that they offer only token support for the side we should be backing to the hilt.

Make no mistake, this is a battle for the hearts and minds of all those who value freedom ahead of any other lifestyle.

While there are glimpses of Western Governments taking a stand against this blatant misuse of our freedom of speech laws - only today we note a US congressional move to censure one of its more radical congresswomen who has been openly repeating the inflammatory words of The Hamas charter that advocates for the destruction of the Jewish State - sadly but not surprisingly, this appears to be an isolated action that doesn’t look like becoming common place in western democracies anytime soon.

Meanwhile Wokeism prevails and is growing in strength.

New Zealanders should be ashamed that our own leaders have not taken similar action when Green MP Chloe Swarbrick issued the same comment at a Pro Palestinian rally in this country only a few days ago. Her contempt for the Jews was palpable.

The only way to prevent this threat to our way of life from escalating until it engulfs us all is to stand shoulder to shoulder with those who are up for the challenge.

Because if we don’t, the forces of evil that are already operating effectively unrestrained with western society will ultimately prevail.

If that happens, what will our future generations say of us?

My guess is that we will be seen as the first generation of Kiwis who didn’t respond in defence of our traditional values when it was our turn to do so.

Do you really want to be remembered as that.

I wonder if this would have happened if Donald Trump was still president in the United States, the bastion of the free world. The chap that they have now is a puppet president! I wonder who is pulling his strings? If Israel disappears, are we next? You can put a dollar each way on it!

Traditional values are being eroded on all fronts and sections of western society Education is not necessarily the most infected but significantly Traditional Educational values and methods would be the answer to our horrible international ratings in the basics and higher, but the opposition to this is strong and particularly so in the teacher unions , MoE, teachers colleges and most universities.

It really amounts to hatred of our Judeo-Christian world view here since this hatred unsurprisingly is frequently also pro Marxist backed. Do these foolish vocal people really want instead, Islamic and Sharia rule dominating in our country and scrap all our hard earned rights and freedoms? You are not forced to be Christian in our society but in many Islam states you would be severely persecuted for being so. We tolerate Muslims hers. The NZ Muslim community not supporting the October massacre of Israelis is shameful considering the NZ Jewish community supported Muslims in the Christchurch Mosque attack.

I am discussing here the distinctly NZ situation not the one in Israel itself.

Dr Naomi Wolf talks good sense on Replay Radio - basically says don't over-react. Don't play into the hands of bloody Hamas (may they perish).

Swarbrick’s disgusting act demonstrates a disease that provocatively challenges our traditional values. Genocide is OK in her book, the horrors of the final solution can be justified. The freedom afforded her to expose her evil was made possible by the New Zealand lives sacrificed on foreign fields.
