NOTE: I’m not “serious” about Waitangi. I am simply making a point about the reaction of crybabies.
One of the universal attributes of left-wingers in New Zealand is despising New Zealand along with the capitalist economic system. This however throws up a tidal wave of hypocrisy by these same people because many of the things which constitute New Zealand, such as the rule of law, civil rights, and money in your pocket, all stem from the capitalist system. Much of this didn’t exist prior to Adam Smith except as vague concepts which were seen as evidence of madness.
Now, lest anybody view left-wingers through the lens of the mutant strain which emerged when Helen Clark took over the Labour Party three decades ago, booted out all the sane people and replaced them with the C team, I can assure you there is nothing particularly ‘new’ about these people. The six years of the last government were merely a case of implementing what had been stinking out the back room for generations.
Be under no illusions who supported the famines and mass murder of Stalin a century ago, Mao in later times, Pol Pot in the ’70s, and all sorts of other communist dictators and madmen. They all fully supported these men – considered all of their actions perfectly justified – and lamented that New Zealand was not also a communist paradise (with them in charge).
They have also supported various terror groups from the IRA to Al Qaeda (look up then Greens leader Jeanette Fitzsimons’s contribution to the 2001 Parliamentary resolution condemning the 9/11 attacks) to the Taliban and numerous other (ahem) “misunderstood freedom fighters”. The latest incarnation of this support for terrorists has been support for Hamas in Gaza, calling for a ceasefire whilst ignoring completely the ceasefire in place on October 6th, 2023.
(As an aside, Chris Luxon’s inexperience at Question Time recently has seen him miss several golden opportunities to both point out the ceasefire leading up to October 6th last year, along with hitting back at Green MPs talking about being ‘selective’ due to their own actions.)
But what all this means, dear reader, is my enormous frustration when left-wingers on the one hand want a communist dictatorship, yet when the going gets tough hide behind capitalist concepts such as freedom of speech and thought, and the rule of law. For instance, why is Golriz Ghahraman – who has admitted her guilt – not asking for her hands to be chopped off in true Hamas style? Why does Kiri Allan hide behind due process and not seek “summary justice” in the back of her head as used to happen in Stalin’s Russia?
It’s all hypocrisy; it’s all further proof of the complete lack of integrity of all left-wingers. Why does nobody have a “live by the sword, die by the sword” attitude to their own life and situations?
If a perfectly reasonable plan to save billions of dollars in welfare costs, prison costs, police costs, treaty settlement costs, and numerous other costs over the next twenty generations, along with a 90% reduction in crime, along with an immediate raising of the average IQ, along with immediately raising productivity, was put together in order to send five hundred troops to Waitangi to open fire next week – once again; doing a Mao or Stalin (their spiritual leaders) – it would be condemned. Yet why? it would simply be a case of giving these people what they pretend to want for everyone else.
So if you’ve ever had doubts about being on the right team, about who the good guys are – it’s us. The left-wingers are rotten to the core expecting capitalism to save them when the going gets tough.

Capitalist is a simple country boy from the deep south who seeks nothing less than the destruction of socialism and collectivism in New Zealand. This article was first published HERE

Between the Lefties and tribal rule/warfare ( I suspect they are the same thing) …. What a choice.
You need to be very careful Mr Capitalist , socialists and totalitarians have very long memories. And very ,very long lists of people they hate and despise. Particularly those whose freedom of speech and values differ from their own. And when the Hamas death chant cheer leader aka Comrade Swarbrick or others of that ilk are in charge you will be on that list.
I do like Mr Luxon's subtle but powerful sense of irony and understatement in his use of language. After all the arrogance and offensiveness of the speech directed at him this week by those who tell us now their ancestors discovered Antarctica before the Pakeha, he simply replies by telling him that perhaps they could try harder at getting their kids to school.
Perhaps next week he could tell them to stop bashing their kids at world record rates. Or running so many gangs or drugs or crime or .......
I don't particularly care too much about this bunch that seems to want to carve out a substantially separate system for themselves within New Zealand.
As long as they pay for what they want themselves.
Because that's another thing they are not particularly good at, paying tax.
Any analysis of the Maori position in our socio economic structure , their over representation in unemployment statistics, welfare dependency and crime shows they are not paying their way.
Any extra right they deem themselves to be entitled to due their latest reinterpretation. of the Treaty of Waitangi is paid for by the wages, the hard work, of some other group.
If they want the position in our society they feel they are entitled to they could start by insisting the various Maori tribal business entities pay tax at the same rate as the rest of the business world. Rather than the current discounted rate of 15 % they currently pay. And they could abandon the 7 Maori seats as was the original intention with the introduction of MMP.
And they could adopt a few of the fundamental planks of western democratic capitalism. Hard work, respect for the law, respect for individual rights and freedoms, respect for property rights. personal responsibility. And respect for the principal of one vote for each of us.
I'm pretty sure your on Comrade Swarbrick's list Capitalist. And happily, so am I !
