Capitalist: And It Is Donald Trump 2.0

Donald Trump and his team are the people to do it and to make fundamental changes to America and the world.

US President Elect Donald Trump begins his new term of office on Monday (Tuesday NZ time). It is a time of great optimism for those of us who voted for him, and I am eagerly awaiting the long list of executive orders to be signed putting an end to a lot of evil and wickedness everybody has been forced to endure for several years.

Capitalist: Sunshine Through the Interstices

It is all the usual left-wing echo chamber. Broke lefty media people and loser socialist politicians are trying to pimp the poor.

Living here in paradise on the Taieri Plains, south of Dunedin, with a view of the iconic Saddle Hill in the distance and safe from crime, poverty, taxation, ‘diversity’, liberals, wokeness and other rubbish, there are times I think perhaps I am ‘missing something’ that comprises day to day life for most people. Just such an occurrence has arisen that both astonished me and leaves me wondering what all the fuss is about.

Capitalist: Trump, America and the Canal

Recently Donald Trump said America is being ripped off by the Panama Canal and he may look at ways to take it back. This is wonderful news and should be heartily supported by those who believe in the rule of law. But first, as is often the case, some history is required.

Capitalist: Take a Bow

It is a pity I gave up drinking (again) back in October, as a smug, priggish, celebration is in order and the Taieri Plains tap water doesn’t quite give the same buzz as Jack Daniel’s.

First I warned that numerous economic and financial indicators were heading in the wrong direction: it’s come true. Then I warned that in Australia (and elsewhere) nobody is investing in New Zealand because they are mystified by all the Māori stuff and worried about property rights. Right on cue the Māori Party leaders have shown foreign (and domestic) investors their money is most definitely not safe in New Zealand any longer.

Capitalist: Why All This Peripheral Stuff?

William Gladstone was the British prime minister between 1868 and ’74. During that government, he established universal education for children, introduced secret ballots for elections, reformed the military, reformed trade unions, reformed institutions to make them more meritoric, reformed the liquor industry and instituted a series of religious reforms in Ireland. His government also undertook lots of other minor things, mostly matters that promoted peace and capitalism. To an extent, Gladstone’s first government had an effect upon the world that is still being felt over a century and a half later.

Capitalist: Where Have All the Viewers Gone?

Prime Minister Chris Luxon opens a bottle of diet Coke and takes a sip. As is fairly common, there happens to be a television camera filming him at the time. He drinks his diet Coke and thinks nothing of it, until 6pm that evening.

The lead story on TV One news is ‘Luxon Declares War on Sugar Industry’. Simon Dallow informs his audience ‘One News has obtained exclusive film footage which purports to show Chris Luxon launching his campaign to destroy the entire industry. We intend to bring you those exclusive pictures in a moment, but first this report from Maiki Sherman...’

Capitalist: The Whole Truth

A European friend was living with us for several months whilst working locally on the Taieri Plains. He’s a right winger, a supporter of Donald Trump and distraught at the assassination attempt on the president in July. During July, August and September, he often expressed frustration at polling showing Kamala Harris ahead, often asking, ‘How is it that Trump isn’t miles ahead in the election race?’ Well the fact is – he was! The media in America simply lied and published fake polls to pretend Harris was a serious contender when she wasn’t. Now the truth has emerged from the Harris campaign itself, admitting they never once had her leading President Trump.

Capitalist: Must Be Designed to Fail

You can imagine my hoots of derisive laughter at Andrew Coster being named head of the ‘Social Investment Agency’ (don’t worry, no one else had ever heard of it either until a couple of days ago) in order to “...[advise] the government on commissioning services for vulnerable people...” according to the NZ Herald. The article rather hilariously talks about a ‘hiring process’ and other twaddle, suggesting Coster’s job isn’t anything other than being fired as police commissioner and a government too sooky to pass a special bill through parliament officially firing him, as I would happily have done.

Capitalist: Year One in Review

It has been a year since the coalition Government took office. Various changes have been made to taxes, regulations, employment laws, education and divers other areas and on the whole they’ve done a good job. We all have a list of things Mr Luxon and his team ‘should’ be doing but it is difficult to point to something undertaken by the government and say it was a grave error. This contrasts notably with the first year of previous National Governments – the disastrous train wreck of Jim Bolger’s first year still gives me nightmares, for example.

Capitalist: Who Is Conning Whom?

The prime minister’s attention was caught by David Seymour: “Prime minister, I think I have a solution to the crime problem.”

The prime minister shuffled his papers waiting for his ministers to take their seats so the cabinet meeting could begin. His 11 months in the job had been eventful – working with perverts, alcoholics and predatory homosexuals was certainly an unusual experience for him – and there were a couple of issues which troubled him: he required a solution. As the meeting got underway, the prime minister put his cards on the table: crime was falling, but it was still far too high and decent respectable white people were sick of being victims of crime. Did anybody have any ideas on tackling it?

Capitalist: It Was Asking for Big Trouble

The founder of the British SAS was a Scots aristocrat called David Stirling. After WWII he found peacetime a bit boring – after having personally killed 43 Germans with his bare hands – and so he engaged in various mercenary activities in Africa and the Middle East. One of those mercenary engagements was the war in Yemen in the early 1960s. To cut a long story short, Stirling and his people had the war won but the handwringers in Whitehall in London didn’t like the idea of a private army fighting wars in a sensitive area and told Stirling to pull out, abandon the fighting and return home (or else).

Capitalist: Do You Think Ardern Actually Failed?

At the weekend I read a rather amusing post on a friend’s Facebook. It was titled “World’s Shortest Books”, intended to be jokesy, and included such ‘titles’ as “Hawaii: a travel guide” by Captain Cook and “Maori Parliament: The Early Years” by Rawiri Waititi. One of the joke titles was “My Political Successes” by Jacinda Ardern; all rather amusing, but is it possible we’ve been looking at things all wrong? Has she actually ‘failed’?

Capitalist: And It Is Labour to Blame, Again

Although not a great fan of popular music and culture, I do occasionally respect certain talented people: Mott the Hoople (of course), Paul French (history’s most underrated songwriter) and Don Walker (the brains behind the Australian band Cold Chisel) immediately spring to mind. Walker once wrote a song “Telephone Booth” which has the line in it …there’s no truth eyeing me sideways.

Capitalist: Why We Build New Prisons

Wokeness is something we regulars on this website all detest; you know the sort of thing – political correctness, Marxist dogma, concerns about causing “offence” to weak, feeble people, shouting down others’ opinions. Capitalism is something we all support; you know the sort of thing – profit-making undertakings. Throw in some other matters such as thinking for yourself, or discussing (at least in theory) any imaginable subject in the General Debate; it results in a rather pleasant website we enjoy visiting.

I have long had a nausea-inducing contempt for weak, useless men; any male who isn’t masculine and doesn’t display traditional male attributes doesn’t cut the mustard with me. Examples of this include those feeble useless sops who let themselves get walked all over by wives and divorce court – then complain! They then attend wimpy ‘men’s groups’ to talk about their PTSD (or is it PMS?), or some other alphabet soup onanist-fest. This sort of obloquy where men disgrace themselves never happened in Sir Keith’s day.

Capitalist: Hold the Guilty to Account

As I write this, facebook.com is alive to the sounds of National Party MPs crowing that the ban on cellular telephones has come into force in schools; something fully supported by your favourite capitalist. In recent days they’ve been crowing about a 2030 target to get 80% of year 8 students doing the 3Rs at their age level. Once again, noble objectives that are fully supported by the man in the street.

But why is it required and why do so many National Party politicians go full retard off the reservation so often? Let me explain…

Capitalist: Check Out the Double Standards

The left have always been racist: they consider anyone non-white to be inferior and requiring ‘educated’ white liberals and left wingers like themselves to run their lives for them. It has never crossed their minds that Maori, or Islanders, or black people might be intelligent, aspirational for themselves and their families, or might have opinions. Left wingers find such notions unfathomable.

Capitalist: Luxon Needs to Wake Up

In 1975 the US Senate conducted a major investigation into the activities of the CIA; it was known as the Church Committee after its chairman Frank Church. During the course of this investigation a great deal of concerning stuff came to light which shocked America and led to greater oversight of the CIA which has continued through to the present day. Until 1975 the CIA had operated without having to really answer to anybody; they could do what they wanted, when they wanted, and nobody ever really knew. Occasionally a leak would appear in the media (such as using Cosa Nostra mobsters in a plot to assassinate Fidel Castro) but the agency would simply lie about it.
