Taika Waititi was correct - "New Zealand is as racist as whuk." I'm sure he'd prefer to use 'Aotearoa', but let's attribute the racism to the latter day colonists - who 'stole' this land and brought civility, welfare, and democracy to it, while eradicating infanticide, nepotism, slavery, and cannibalism.
So they are going to continually burn the countryside?
If you want to get a feeling or idea about "Māori cultural values", I suggest either reading Alan Duffs novel or watching the movie "once were warriors" upon which it is based.
And don't believe the trite on Wikipedia about the detrimental effects of colonization.
The Author maintained the complete opposite stance.
He castigated "traditional" leadership and the radical movement for dwelling on the injustices of the past and expecting others to resolve them (Welfarism).
He blames Māori failure on Māori - for not making most of the opportunities they were given - equality as citizens in a new sovereign state.
The Gore DC would be better off trying to "Infuse that value stance" instead into their "Plan".
Are the Maori Mafia holding guns to the heads of these Councils ?
Surely these people are properly educated to understand how the world works with one vote per person without secular rules and persecution ?
Are they happy to destroy our balanced society so that their grandchildren are ruled by anyone with a single drop of Maori blood ?
Now any permit application etc will be known to some staff and with some digging to others. Although maybe not formal, there is a recognised code of confidentiality. But now a team of maori will scrutinise all and with their vast circle of coussies, bros, political controllers, charity exploiters, contractors etc be in a positon to identify and exploit to maori advantage..
