This cartoon by Garrick is of interest to me as almost the same commentary was used by Sir Bob Jones during the time of the Kirk Government (1972-74)when Jones had huge billboards erected oh downtown Wellington buildings that said …
MAT RATA READS COMMENTS and below that NO HE DOESNT HE JUST LOOKS AT THE PICTURES.
At the time I was one of Ratas Parlimentary Private Secretaries and every morning we would receive comics addressed to him which to his credit Rata always took in great humour.
Word error COMMENTS should be COMICS …Please amend before publishing
