Victor Davis Hanson breaks down the media hysteria over Iran, anti-Trump protests, and the stakes for 2026. After everything Donald Trump has taken on, will division hand Democrats the win?

Trump marketed division in his campaign. Being anti-war is the normal human condition.
s far as I am able to judge VDH tries for rationality, which is so lacking - rightly or wrongly - on the left. What has happened to common sense?
Anon1:58 .Go and tell the radical Islamists
that anti-war is the normal human state.
Mohammad was a war lord and the Quran advocates Jihad which means killing
Jews and Christians.
Tens of thousands of Christians are being killed in Nigeria by Muslims. Muhammadanism is not a religion of peace and never has been and sees the West as weak in its peace ideas.
Thank you Muriel for including this sage endorsement of Brendan O’Neil’s earlier critique of the Iran War MSM news coverage. It is a welcome contrast to the Anti Trump, Anti USA rubbish that dominates our own News channels and outlets.
I guess we will just have to be patient until the truth will out.
But don’t bet on any apologies for the deliberate lies when it happens.
In the meantime, thankfully there is reliable Utube coverage from VDH and Military experts like Retired 4star General Jack Keane who provide daily reviews that tell it like it is.
I dare the TDS haters to have a look.
There is much to learn.
Petrol sure is expensive right now. Didn’t use to be this bad a few months back.
I don't have an opinion about Trump. He isn't our president, after all.
Nor do I think that Trump himself dreamed up the attack on Iran. It has all the hallmarks of a long-standing plan on the part of the Establishment.
But nonetheless, in my view it's a catastrophic miscalculation by the US. I've been around for many years, have watched repeated meddling in the ME by the US. None of it has been successful. The ME is now in a worse state than it was before. I suspect that the curse of Islamism afflicting the West is a consequence of that meddling.
I'm not a supporter of Iran: I simply don't know enough about what's been happening there, post-revolution in 1979. However: I have extended family connections to the Ukraine. I'm well aware of the history there, in the Donbass in particular. In this family, we're infuriated by Western propaganda about that part of the world.
If propaganda and outright lies are being told about eastern Ukraine, and uncritically swallowed by Westerners, why would I believe what the same voices tell me about Iran?
I remain of the view that the US and Israel would be wise to withdraw from this conflict.
