DTNZ: U.K. study undermines claim that CO2 drives ‘climate change’

A global analysis of long-term temperature records has found a weak-to-non-existent relationship between carbon dioxide emissions and the rate of global warming, challenging a central assumption behind many current ‘climate policies’.

The study by Queen’s University in Belfast, UK was completed in August of this year.

The 23rd July 2025 USA Department of Energy (DoE) Report, “A Critical Review of Impacts of Greenhouse Gas Emissions on the U.S. Climate” [1], authored by five eminent scientists, brought some balance back into the climate change debate, and outrage from many in the climate science community. The report exposed significant alarmism in the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) statements on anthropogenic carbon dioxide (CO2) and climate change, projected temperature rise and extreme weather events. We will begin with a bit of background. Many elements have what we call isotopes. Now a normal atom has equal numbers of protons, electrons, and neutrons. When we have different numbers of neutrons than normal we have isotopes. The most common isotope of carbon is carbon 12. This has 6 protons in its nucleus and 6 neutrons. Then there is carbon 13 with 6 protons and 7 neutrons. Finally, we have carbon 14 with 6 protons and 8 neutrons. This isotope is radioactive.

Dramatic evidence has been published in a number of recent science papers that carbon dioxide levels are already ‘saturated’, meaning little or no further warming is to be expected and rising CO2 levels are all beneficial.

Half of human emissions are being quickly pushed back into the biosphere, the scientists say, causing substantial, famine-busting plant growth, while the rest is entering a ‘saturated’ atmosphere and having a minimal effect on global temperatures. One of the papers accepting the human involvement in rising CO2 is published by the CO2 Coalition, which notes: “We like CO2, so should you.”

Since writing on this topic – see HERE - I have circulated my paper widely to all parliamentary politicians, news outlets and agricultural lobby groups. The replies I received and discussions I had with the responders showed a real lack of acceptance or even understanding of the carbon cycle. In this paper I try to address this and look further to other serious policies affecting agriculture.

Four issues stood out: 

1)     No understanding of the essential place CO2 has in the growing of all food.

2)     Not recognising that CO2 is one of the trace gasses of the atmosphere

3)     the belief that CO2 and methane are different issues 

4)     an utter lack of appreciation of the uptake of CO2 by growing pasture. 

Linnea Lueken: LinkedIn Bans Scientist for Presenting Inconvenient Truths About CO2

 

The big-tech censors are at it again: the CO2 Coalition’s Executive Director Gregory Wrightstone has been permanently banned from LinkedIn. What did Wrightstone do to earn the banishment? His “crime” consisted of posting charts from peer reviewed research supported by official sources demonstrating that current global average CO2 levels are well within the natural range of concentrations throughout the Earth’s history.

LinkedIn’s moderators sent Wrightstone an email informing him that his violations have been so numerous and/or so severe that they couldn’t allow him to continue to use the platform. A screenshot of the email and ban inducing charts have been provided by Wrightstone and are shown below.
