David Farrar: Jacinda documentary will get $2 million

Jacinda documentary will get $2 million, not $800k of taxpayer money

The Herald reports:

The $3.2 million documentary has already had $800,000 of public money approved by the Film Commission – and is likely to be eligible for a further $1.2 million in taxpayer money through the government's screen production rebate (SPR) scheme.

So $2 million of taxpayer money for a hagiography.

“It is authored by New Zealand filmmakers who have firsthand experience of this significant period in New Zealand's recent history. It's important to note that this film is not a biopic of Jacinda Ardern, but rather it is focused on the reaction to her leadership.”

You can just imagine it, can't you. It will paint her loss of support as all being about sexism, racism etc and nothing to do with a lack of delivery, a cost of living crisis etc.

David Farrar runs Curia Market Research, a specialist opinion polling and research agency, and the popular Kiwiblog where this article was sourced. He previously worked in the Parliament for eight years, serving two National Party Prime Ministers and three Opposition Leaders.

This sort of thing is why we are all so angry. It's just layers and layers of lefties telling us what to think and making us pay for it. Luxon is not going to stop any of the racist, woke, left-wing and Maori wonderfulness crap that makes us so disappointed and angry.
I would like to say right here and now that I was a mature person who joined the Labour Party about 2017 and as an active member thought that they would be a shining light for NZ. When it appeared by 2020 that that was all they were and the light was shining on a big black hole I quit. Since then I have come to despise the damn Dame and all she stood for. She has irreparably harmed NZ by creating division over so many things, including Covid and He Puapua. She needs to stay persona-non-grata in our country where she has grown the plants sown from seeds of discontent and disharmony.
The documentary will be framed as an excuse for the vitriol she deserves and we taxpayers will be funding it and seething even more.
Damn the Dame! And all who excuse her unforgivable Socialist power trip. Especially the MSM who never told us about so many things we should have known about.

Who will be bothered watching it? If it was about some notable maori the rebel support network would promote endlessly on RNZ etc to ensure at least 20% audience. But she has served her purpose for maori and they are not going to idolise a mere pakeha any more than they do Doug Graham, or Finlayson, or Palmer. NZ does not just breed crazy left wing maori nutters, some demented right wing out there also. With her visage diplayd eveyrwhere, she will likely prfer to stay in the other land of nutters.

The Coalition should stop this project - if they value their political future.

I totally disagree with money spent on this project. Jacinda and her Marxist comrades has destroyed this country and divided the nation and these are unforgivable. Crimes. To rub salt into the wounds is unbelievable so I hope people vote with their feet and turn their back on this documentary.
