More evidence of global greening from carbon dioxide fertilisation has been published in the prestigious publication Nature. The research involved 70 experiments and three decades of field data from many locations in the savannah of South Africa’s Kruger National Park. The international scientific team was led by Dr Kimberley Simpson of the University of Sheffield, the paper entitled ‘Increasing CO2 levels fertilise C4 grass production‘. Phys.org reported the study as follows: ‘Rising carbon dioxide is supercharging grass growth in African savannas, study finds.’ The latest study challenges the previously held view that the dominant grasses in the savannah (known as ‘C4’) benefit little from rising levels of carbon dioxide.

Global mean vegetation greening reached a record high last year, extending an already significant multi-decade upward trend, according to recent findings published in Nature. In fact, 2025 set a record for global vegetation greening with a steepening of the average trend. Top of the list with 77.6% showing extra greening was croplands, meaning more food is becoming available to boost global diets.

The US Clean Air Act of 1970 defined six Criteria Air Contaminants subject to regulation. They are: particulate matter, ground level ozone, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, lead, and carbon monoxide. In 2007 the Supreme Court ruled that “greenhouse gases” were also pollutants. Ian Bradford: Some Facts About Carbon Dioxide and Sea Levels

The Earth’s atmosphere takes up about 4.2 billion cubic kilometres, and weighs about 5x10­­¹⁸ kg. That’s 5,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg.

Nitrogen takes up 78.09% of this volume, oxygen 20.95% and argon 0.93%. The remaining 0.03% consists of carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and ozone plus very small amounts of other gases.

Ian Bradford: New revelations that anthropogenic carbon dioxide is not changing the earth's temperature

The climate alarmists claim that human caused (anthropogenic) emissions of Carbon Dioxide are causing global warming.  

I’ll begin with two graphs put out in previous articles.

First, the familiar graph going well back in geological time of the Earth’s temperature and the Carbon Dioxide levels. This graph has been assembled using proxies- physical characteristics such as tree rings which give and idea of temperature at the time and ice cores which can give the Carbon Dioxide content.

I have read two statements recently which are incorrect.  In an article from “Science Direct”,  the article  states “The major greenhouses gases are Carbon Dioxide and Methane.” This is  incorrect of course and yet more propaganda. The major greenhouse gas is water vapour. Water vapour is never mentioned by the climate alarmists.  You cannot tax water vapour. There are just 16 human produced Carbon Dioxide molecules in every million molecules in the atmosphere, while there are 20,000 water vapour molecules in every million molecules in the atmosphere.

In my last article I suggested that the increase in Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere was coming from natural sources, NOT from human sources.  Humans supply a very meagre 4% of the CO2 in the atmosphere, whereas 96% comes from natural sources.  The oceans hold most of the natural CO2.  The oceans are warming and warm water holds less CO2 than cold water.  So as the oceans warm, more CO2 is emitted into the atmosphere.

The climate mouthpiece of the UN, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change the IPCC, state that since the Industrial Revolution humans have been putting carbon Dioxide into the atmosphere and that has caused global warming, climate change, and all kinds of weather events.  

From 1900 to today, the amount of CO2 has increased from 209 parts per million (ppm), to about 420ppm. They claim that the rise in temperature of about 1.5 deg C since the Industrial Revolution some 170 years ago is wholly due to anthropogenic Carbon Dioxide.  In other words, Carbon Dioxide put into the atmosphere by humans.
