New Zealand may have to pay out billions of dollars to meet our carbon slashing target.
The Government raised New Zealand’s 2030 Paris Agreement carbon-slashing target and reaching that target would require paying other countries to slash emissions on New Zealand’s behalf.
Treasury estimates this will cost $12.8 billion by the end of the decade.
Dave Frame, Director of the NZ Climate Change Research Institute says that it would be wiser to finance mitigating the damage on our shores instead.

It will be a brave government that commits to spending $12.8 billion to other countries when that money could be put to good use helping repair and mitigate our own climate damage.
This is the utter futility of the scam associated with climate change commitments. Sending money offshore to give to other countries is criminal when there is so much to do here.
Dave Fram is 100% correct in saying it would be wiser to finance mitigating the damage here.
Then again there aren’t any wise heads in this Labour Government; there never have been.
Sadly, both Act and National would continue with this scam, sending billions offshore while borrowing even more to repair the damage here.

They have to be completely nuts. They may as well sent it to Santa Claus it would have exactly the same effect on climate as sending it to a blackmailing scam like IPCC.

For the record:-
The IPCC is consistently wrong in it's predictions of doom.
1/ No 50 million climate refugees by 2010, as they forecast in 2005.
2/ No increase in rate of sea level rising.
3/ Artic Ice is still there, and not melting away
3/ Antarctic Ice is actually growing.
4/ Extreme weather events, world-wide are NOT increasing.
5/ Forest fires, world-wide, are not increasing.
6/ Also, all of the dire predictions made by everybody from Prince Charles to Attenborough, simply did not occur. It was all apocalyptic panic merchant behavior.
7/ The IPCC has recently admitted that it’s multiplying factor used in all their “computer models” is wrong, and all their predictions up till now have been highly exaggerated.
Seems to me paying carbon credits to Russia so they can assign to trees there and retain all the slash might be a good investment.
Shows the absolute stupidity of so called climate change. They want us to screw ourselves financially with no benefit at all to us and no change to man made emissions in NZ.
The world will laugh at us when we finally become a third world country soone rather than later.

That's 12.8 Billion $ folks - phew - that number just rolls right off the tongue doesn't it. Maybe they don't need it to effect the repairs from the cyclone? Have the CCP already been given the contract to repair our infrastructure via the BRI.
Of course it shouldn't be sent offshore, its a travesty.
Add to that all the other millions they have and are still throwing around, like so much confetti, and don't forget the 'special people and their newly donated $15mill
I've often wondered just how many $ have been spent on rebranding and renaming everything Maori.
This carbon credits / forestry scam is the greatest rort of the past 100 years. The destruction caused in Hawkes Bay and East Cape by Cyclone Gabrielle highlighted the complicity of central government and international corporations in this scam …. it’s the same old story …. privatise the profits and socialise the costs. We’re all complete suckers for believing this “Climate Change” bullsh*t.
It will be a sad sight to watch our latest batch of brainwashed and criminally groomed school children misguidedly demonstrate their Climate Change ignorance. This is the greatest lie ever told perpetuated by the propaganda champions, Stuff, who refuse to allow their religion questioned. The truth doesn’t mind being questioned but a lie does not like being challenged.
