With the news that TV 3 is soon to close its doors, the need for TV One to be brought up to a satisfactory standard has become urgent. In its current state, it is little more than a bulletin board for left-wing reporters and programmers who make up TV One’s staff.
Since it seems that Melissa Lee, the Broadcasting Minister, hasn’t spoken to TV One’s Chief Executive, or if she has, the CEO has no intention of taking any notice, it is to the Prime Minister that our desire for an improvement in journalistic standards should be directed.
Not only that, TV One also needs an influx of more professional reporters. Moving the hopelessly woke John Campbell off into retirement would be a positive start, and giving all the reporters a stern talking to about modern journalistic requirements is fundamental.
And, while the Prime Minister is about it, Radio New Zealand needs a tune-up as well. It suffers from some of the same failures in professional conduct as TV One.

Since it looks like we, the watching and listening public, are to be largely dependent on state media outlets after 30 June, NOW is an opportune time for the shake-up to begin. If it starts now, we could be ready with a refreshed broadcasting service by the time TV 3 departs the scene.

I am forming the view that the PM likes the media as is. It publishes its own guff rather than focus on what PM is actually up to- such a convenient smokescreen. I will start to have (a little bit of) faith in both, when it is accurately reported (or the PM is held accountable if there is no action or negative action in respect of)
what steps the PM is taking to acknowledge, address and work towards remedying the fundamental racially driven rift underpinned by lies, lies and more lies, that is destroying NZ.
OK - emailed them. Not holding my breath.
Perhaps starting a petition would be a more effective way forward.
Managed by Hobson's Pledge or NZCPR or another reputable body.
Luxon, and his buddies, need to be under no illusions about the public's desire for a fair and balanced state media.
There has been nothing from any of the coalition parties on this vitally important issue. Both Peters & Seymour have made it clear what they think of the MSM.
This is the perfect time for action. And the perfect excuse. With just a single provider of mainstream TV News shortly, the Charter should be revisited to ensure the public is getting the service they largely pay for.
We all know we aren't so that's justification for gutting TVOne and replacing all the key personnel with genuine journalists.
Come on Chris. You know you want to.
Ithought melissa lee appointment to broadcasting was a good move as i allways thought she was sound at question time. But in the last 48hrs iam very concerned that no action is going to happen with tv1 and rnz.Lets hope winston and seymour can give her a push!
