The news media are nothing short of an unmitigated disgrace. They have proven themselves to be a national embarrassment. They don’t deal in reality; they inhabit their left-wing bunker, spout leftist rhetoric and seem to think we will just sit here and swallow it. Well, those of us who, unlike the media, do our research and follow reputable news outlets are aware of the reality and see the BS we are being fed.

One might well ask why?
Simple answer: Because all they know or have heard is what the NZ mainstream media has been feeding them.
The leftist media here gets its information from outlets in the US such as CNN, NY Times and Washington Post and it just fits their narrative.
You are never going to get anything remotely honest out of CNN. The fact that our media subscribe to these outlets tells you all you need to know. They are so immersed in their leftist propaganda that they just don’t care that they are leading their viewers/readers up the garden path.
Mainstream media has outlived its usefulness and is not in any way reflective of what is going on in the world.
Politically the world is moving right. Yet the MSM remains hunkered down in its left-wing bunker.
They are effectively presenting rhetoric that is way out of touch with the reality of what the people actually think, happily in denial of what is happening in the real world.
How can you be a proud member of what was once a profession if you exhibit this sort of disgraceful conduct?
So Harris is now unemployed. Perhaps she will join CNN or MSNBC.

Kamala Harris reflects these types perfectly and, try as it might, the media endeavoured (and failed) to paint a very different picture of her.
She was never in the race and was never going to win. Yet listening to the news media here you would have thought she had every chance.
If the NZ news media wants to be viewed as credible, they need to crawl out of their leftist bunker and rejoin the real world. You can hardly call yourself “mainstream” when you have removed yourself so far from the real mainstream.
There is a yawning gap between them and reality, particularly when it comes to political discourse from both here and abroad.
Those of us who research and deal in reality knew weeks (if not months) ago that the result would be very much as it turned out.
Meanwhile we were repeatedly told ad nauseum how ‘close’ the election was, overlooking one critically important factor: the electoral college.
You can win the popular vote but lose the electoral college, as Hillary Clinton discovered in 2016. (Or you can lose them both, as Kamala Harris just discovered.) The media didn’t even attempt to paint a clear picture of what was really happening. They either didn’t know or deliberately chose to mislead the public – which, to be blunt – is becoming all too common.
Elon Musk, now identified as one of Donald Trump’s transitional team, predicted the mainstream media’s death knell during the campaign. He will no doubt be proven correct.
I see TVNZ are to disestablish another 50 jobs. They should put themselves out of their misery. This won’t be the last cut!
