James Shaw has abandoned ship from the increasingly hard left Marxist Green Party. He was the last sensible MP, as far as sensible Greens go, left in the party. He will be a loss to them even though many Green members will be quietly cheering at his resignation.
The Greens have increasingly become harder and harder left wing, pushing their particular brand of cultural Marxism on us, along with embracing and advocating on behalf of terror organisations like Hamas and the Houthi rebels.
Their woke identitarian policies and actions have become so toxic that they’ve finally succeeded in driving James Shaw away.
They stupidly believe that they “won” at the last election and that their increased numbers are because of the merits of their people and policies.
It seems to have escaped their notice that Labour was so rubbish that the Greens got an increased vote as a result. The next election will see some of that vote go back to Labour.
He has been an MP for a bit over nine years and his only claim to fame is a piece of legislation that will undoubtedly be overturned in due course. He came into Parliament hoping to change the world and pretty much did nothing other than rack up hundreds of thousands of air miles allegedly combatting climate change.
He has literally achieved nothing in his time in parliament, other than exuding vast quantities of hot air.
I have a suspicion that he knows there is more to the Golriz Ghahraman story and is exiting before awkward questions get asked about an attempt to make it all go quietly away.
Meanwhile the Greens have to choose a new co-leader, and they do not have many choices to fulfil the requirements of their rules for these positions.
One possible cis white male would be Scott Willis. He seems to have serious credentials:

Scott and his partner Jenna lived overseas in neo-peasant and activist communities
Right, I have no idea what that even means.
The only other choice is tree-climbing activist Steve Abel. Despite the biggest and most diverse caucus ever, they seem rather thin on the ground with cis white males.
I can’t see them increasing their vote now that James Shaw has gone.

You should check their constitution. There is no requirement for a male co-leader.
Let's just call a spade a spade, and call them committed communists that should cease to exist altogether. After all, they are "anti-carbon" which translate to anti-life.
Will be Chloe
In 2022 the Greens changed their co-leader rules from one female + one male to one female + any other gender (there are oodles of those, of course). So while two female co-leaders would be fine, two male co-leaders would be evil – obviously!
I used to think the name 'green' stood for the environment. It took me a while to realise that 'green' is the sacred colour of Islam. Everything makes a lot more sense now - thanks!
