Garrick Tremain: Colonisation

 Here is Garrick Tremain's cartoon commentary on Colonisation! 



Garrick Tremain is one of New Zealand's best known artists and political cartoonists. With a background in farming and advertising, he has a wonderful ability to capture in images exactly what people are thinking in a way that makes us laugh. You can see his more of his work on his website HERE.

And if the cop does not accept the excuse there will probably soon be a Waitangi Tribunal finding to ensure he does. Wouldn't it be wonderful if such cartoons appeared in the Herald and Dom Post?

You can excuse the bald tire at least. They are still coming to grips with how their scientific endeavors had missed the whole wheel thing.

The real scary thing is, many of today's young New Zealanders won't understand the joke.

Or, "Sorry fellahs, didnt realise yous were maori or would not have stopped yous. My mistake. We have been directed to go soft to keep down the charge, prosecution and occupancy stats."

Or "Sorry fellahs. Stopped you by mistake. Normally on my own I am too scared to stop groups of maori."

The lack of shading on the faces is indicative of Tremain's advanced sense of observation and humour.
